As a bright spot in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos, in the 2024-2025 school year, Tay Nguyen Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities will welcome and teach more than 270 students from Laos, including 2 students from Sekong province.
At Tay Nguyen University, 6 international students from Sekong province have been and are receiving training support from the school.
At these schools, Lao students are enthusiastically equipped with knowledge, given the opportunity to integrate and learn more about Vietnamese culture and people.

The relationship between Dak Lak and Sekong has also been strengthened through trips, high-level meetings, and cultural exchanges. In recent times, Dak Lak has organized 8 delegations at provincial, department, and sector levels to visit and celebrate Bunpimay in 4 southern Lao provinces; attend the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, "Forum for promoting trade, investment and tourism to promote the development of the East-West Economic Corridor in 2025" and "Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Trade, Investment and Tourism Fair in 2025" in the neighboring country. Sekong also had 14 delegations at provincial, department, and sector levels visit, exchange cooperation, cultural and artistic exchanges, and major festivals taking place in Dak Lak province.
Accompanying friends in times of trouble, Dak Lak has supported 200 million VND to Sekong province to prevent and fight the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020. From 2016 to present, the Provincial Women's Union and the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association have also implemented many friendship activities, such as: donating 2 sets of computers, 1 printer, organizing the "Vietnam - Laos Friendship" contest; organizing a twinning relationship with the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province, supporting the construction of a house of gratitude in Sekong worth 25 million VND, giving Tet gifts to students of Sekong province studying in Dak Lak...
Comrade Lec-lay Si-vi-lay, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Sekong Province affirmed: Sekong Province and the Central and Southern provinces of Vietnam, especially Dak Lak Province, have had regular visits and experience exchanges between leaders at all levels, sectors and localities. The contents of cooperation are increasingly going into depth, creating more and more favorable mechanisms, the scope of sectors, fields and localities is also widely promoted.
Recently, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province and the government of Sekong province agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, creating an important milestone, opening a step forward for bilateral relations. In addition to continuing to promote propaganda and mobilize people, especially the young generation of the two Parties and States, to preserve and foster the friendly relationship between the two countries and two peoples, Dak Lak and Sekong will increase delegation exchanges at all levels and cultural, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchanges to strengthen the friendship between the two provinces.

Focusing on promoting economic cooperation, Dak Lak and Se Kong will increase trade and investment cooperation. In particular, the agricultural sector is expected to create new breakthroughs, from cultivation, livestock, aquaculture, forestry to agricultural processing. With its strengths in land and resources, Se Kong invites Dak Lak enterprises to research, survey and invest in the service, tourism, agricultural and processing industries, committing to creating the most favorable conditions.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Truong Cong Thai shared that Dak Lak and Se Kong have many similarities in terms of potential and advantages in agriculture, industrial processing, eco-tourism, along with priority orientations for cooperation in the coming time. This is a favorable basis for the two sides to coordinate, support and develop sustainably. Dak Lak will continue to closely coordinate with Se Kong province in the implementation process, affirming the strong relationship between the two localities for comprehensive development and for the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
