Hue takes advantage of the power of music to develop tourism

Not only a heritage city, Hue is gradually positioning itself as a vibrant cultural and artistic center through a new tourism model, combining music events and cultural experiences.

In the recent seminar "Music tourism - New tourism trend in Hue city, summer 2025", experts from many fields pointed out that music tourism is becoming an inevitable trend in the global tourism industry.

In addition to generating direct revenue from tickets and related products, music events also contribute to boosting the local economy through accommodation, food, transportation and many other services.

There are many typical cases, the most prominent of which is Taylor Swift's The Eras tour . Each stop of this tour created an economic impact of up to hundreds of millions of dollars for the host cities.

In the context of Vietnam, Ha Anh Tuan's shows in Da Lat, Ninh Binh, and Hoi An also created a remarkable wave of "music tourism", when the number of tourists flocking to these destinations increased dramatically during the concert.

Experts also say that in Vietnam, the phenomenon of music events becoming a highlight to attract tourists has been proven in practice.

The shows "Anh trai vuon ngan cong gai" and "Anh trai say hi" have created a ticket fever, attracting a large number of audiences traveling between cities, even from abroad to Vietnam to attend the music nights. This is a clear demonstration of the potential of music tourism.

In the near future, Hue will also organize the Mega Booming Hue 2025 music festival, expected to attract more than 15,000 live audiences and this number may continue to increase as the program's appeal spreads.

The music event took place for one night only on the evening of July 6 at Ngo Mon Square - Hue Imperial City. With the participation of 17 famous artists and DJs such as Isaac, Quoc Thien, Anh Tu, Kay Tran, Quan AP, Quang Hung MasterD, Gemini Hung Huynh, Pham Anh Khoa... the music festival promises to contribute to the goal of achieving tourism revenue of Hue over 11,000 billion VND this year.

CEO Chau LE - General Director of the grand concert - said that the stage this coming July will be specially designed to both honor the architectural beauty of Ngo Mon and create a modern performance space with an international-class sound and lighting system.

Tourism economic experts say this model is not just a simple music festival but also a sustainable direction, taking advantage of the power of music to develop tourism.

The festival not only generates direct revenue from tickets and related products, but also stimulates local economic development through accommodation, food, transportation and many other services.

This is clearly demonstrated through the coordination between hotels in providing special accommodation packages and the participation of travel agencies such as Vietravel, Saigontourist... when including this event in the tour itinerary.

Representatives of travel companies said that it is the combination of modern music and the unique cultural space of Hue Imperial City that creates the unique attraction for this music festival.

Experts also believe that if this model is successful, Hue is fully capable of becoming a regular destination for large-scale music events, expanding its role from a heritage city to a center for organizing high-class cultural and artistic events.
