The National Agricultural Extension Center has just coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hue City to organize field trips, support and guide people in banana and pomelo growing areas heavily affected by floods on techniques to restore production, and at the same time provide guidance on cleaning barns and caring for livestock and poultry.
In Huong Tra ward, experts and technical staff guided people on how to clean the fields and take care of plants after flooding. The instructions included post-flood soil treatment, leaf pruning and tree cleaning, pruning and shoot setting techniques, pest and disease management on banana trees, pomelo and pomelo tree canopy management techniques, and other pest and disease control measures.

Mr. Nguyen Tin (Huong Tra ward) shared that his family has 7 sao of pomelo trees that were flooded in the recent consecutive floods, the trees have rotten stems and roots. The treatment measures that people have taken have not been very effective. "Training and guidance from agricultural extension officers are very necessary and important at this time, through which we have more appropriate knowledge to apply," Mr. Tin said.

On this occasion, the National Agricultural Extension Center called on businesses to accompany, support, and give Hue City residents 3 tons of organic fertilizer, 300 kg/liter of environmental treatment products, and 42 liters of disinfectant chemicals to help farmers restore production after floods.
