Quang Ninh classifies and evaluates OCOP products

On November 25, at the headquarters of Inter-Agency No. 3, Ha Long Ward, the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council held a conference to evaluate and classify OCOP products of Quang Ninh province, phase 2, 2025.

Accordingly, there are 32 products in the OCOP product catalog proposed for evaluation, including 11 products evaluated for the first time, 10 products proposed for upgrading, and 11 products re-evaluated due to expired stars.

Chairing the conference, Mr. Vu Duy Van, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that the organization of OCOP product evaluation closely followed the criteria for evaluating and classifying products of the One Commune One Product Program issued by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 148/QD-TTg dated February 24, 2023 and Decision No. 1489/QD-TTg dated July 6, 2025 of the Prime Minister.

To date, the province has 437 OCOP products with 3-5 stars, of which 326 products have 3 stars; 103 products have 4 stars and 8 products have 5 stars. The whole province has 184 production entities, of which 47 enterprises, 70 cooperatives and 67 business households.

Mr. Vu Duy Van emphasized that after implementing the two-level local government model, the grassroots apparatus has initially operated stably. The implementation of the One Commune, One Product Program, under the strong direction of the People's Committees of localities, the proactive and active participation of departments, units and especially OCOP subjects has achieved many positive results.

Many OCOP entities have raised awareness and proactively completed documents, legal procedures, quality management systems (such as 5S, HACCP, ISO) and improved product packaging designs in a modern, environmentally friendly direction and in line with market tastes.

Most of the products participating in this year's review have invested in sensory quality and food safety indicators. The supporting documents are basically complete, especially the certificates related to food safety and intellectual property rights.

Besides, many new potential products have appeared in different industry groups, especially rural tourism services and herbal medicine groups, creating new momentum for the province's OCOP Program.

This is the 10th year Quang Ninh has organized the evaluation and classification of OCOP products, thereby continuing to make the program an important economic program of the province, maximizing the potential and advantages of local traditional products.

At the same time, forming product value chains, focusing on key products to reach domestic and foreign markets, elevating the OCOP Program to become a strong brand of Quang Ninh province nationwide, gradually reaching out to regional and international markets.
