Leaders of Huong Thuy Town awarded a certificate of national standard recognition to Thuy Phu Primary School No. 2

Reporting to the working delegation of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee, Vice Chairwoman of Huong Thuy Town People's Committee Ngo Thi Ai Huong said that determining that the cultural and social sector plays an important role and has a strong impact on economic development and people's lives, Huong Thuy has focused on promoting the development of this sector in recent times and has achieved positive results.

Accordingly, Huong Thuy'seducation and training are taken care of for comprehensive development. There are 38 public schools (preschool, primary and secondary schools) and 13 private preschools in the area with a suitable school network system. Up to now, Huong Thuy has 38/40 schools meeting national standards, accounting for 95%, leading the whole province.

Cultural and sports institutions have been invested in, meeting the needs of the people for cultural enjoyment, performing arts, and physical training. The movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life and civilized urban areas has been widely deployed and initially achieved positive results; 10/10 communes and wards have met national health standards; preventive health activities have been implemented synchronously, the vaccination rate for children and pregnant women has reached over 90%.

Notably, the Town Medical Center has tested the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in imaging diagnosis, reading films with artificial intelligence, helping to make X-ray results more accurate, creating trust from patients and their families.

Poverty reduction, job creation, and implementation of social policies have been actively and effectively implemented. In 2023, in the whole town, over 1,800 workers were introduced to new jobs and over 350 workers went to work abroad under contracts; the average income per capita reached over 73 million VND, higher than the average income of the whole province of 57 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate decreased to 0.64%, the lowest in the whole province.

Concluding the working session, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Department Hoang Khanh Hung highly appreciated the achievements in the social field of Huong Thuy in the past time, and at the same time informed and clarified some shortcomings, limitations and problems that the locality proposed and recommended.

"We will absorb the comments and contributions of the locality and members of the Delegation to supplement and complete the report and propose and recommend at the upcoming Provincial People's Council meeting," Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung affirmed.
