According to the report of Long Thanh district, the district has completed step 2, which is to develop and adjust the district-level land use planning. Specifically, determining land use needs for sectors and fields; synthesizing land use needs, balancing to determine land use indicators; determining land use indicators by land type, including land use indicators allocated by provincial planning to the district level and land use indicators according to land use needs of the district and commune levels; building a system of tables and data tables; creating a map to adjust the district-level land use planning.

During the process of implementing the dossier to adjust the district-level land use planning until 2030, the following issues arose: some projects that need to be removed from the planning need to be canceled, some projects need to have their scale and location adjusted, and some projects need to be added.

From the above changes, the district proposed to reduce more than 1 thousand hectares of rice land and nearly 3.9 thousand hectares of perennial crop land to convert to land for nearby traffic works, land for building public works, land for buildingeducational facilities , etc.

“In reality, the land for rice and perennial crops in the district is less than the allocated target. Meanwhile, the targets for land for transportation, education, concentrated information technology zones, and free trade zones are lower than the allocated target or do not exist yet. It is necessary to adjust accordingly,” said Tran Van Than, Vice Chairman of Long Thanh District People’s Committee.

At this working session, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Construction also commented on the land use indicators of Long Thanh district that need to be adjusted and supplemented.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc requested Long Thanh district to urgently review and unify the land use targets that need to be adjusted and supplemented based on the targets the province has allocated to the district.

In case the district has time to complete the dossier, it will urgently submit it to the Department of Agriculture and Environment to get opinions from departments and branches, and get opinions from members of the Provincial People's Committee to approve the adjustment of the land use plan of Long Thanh district before June 30. In case the dossier is not completed in time, the district will base on the priority level, urgency and effectiveness of the project to complete the plan. At the same time, immediately deploy the allocation of land use plans to each new commune-level administrative unit.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment acknowledged the proposal of the District People's Committee and prioritized the processing of the dossier to adjust the land use planning until 2030 because the locality is implementing many large-scale projects of the province and the country.
