At the meeting, the Department of Construction said that according to the targets assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council, in the period of 2021-2025, the province must build at least 10,000 social housing units. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister assigned a target for Dong Nai to complete 2,608 social housing units in 2025.

To date, the province has completed the construction of 1,758 social housing units. At the same time, 2,509 more units have been started and are under construction.

Thus, by the end of 2025, the province must start and build at least 5,733 units, of which 2,510 more units must be completed to fulfill the assigned targets.

According to the plan, in 2025, 13 projects with more than 12,700 social housing units will be started in the province, of which 2,957 units are expected to be completed. To date, 6 projects have started construction with 2,607 social housing units. Of the remaining 7 projects that have not started construction (about 9,950 units in scale), 6 projects are currently stuck with investment procedures, land, and planning.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha said that the demand for social housing in the area is very large, so it cannot be done slowly. However, in recent times, the progress of project implementation has been very slow, many projects are still "on paper".

Therefore, for the 7 projects planned to start construction in 2025 that have not yet started, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested investors to re-establish the progress schedule and strive to start construction before September 1.

For the Department of Construction, after receiving the adjusted progress critical lines from investors, establish the critical lines for the commencement of these projects and report to the Provincial People's Committee. Based on this progress critical line, propose tasks for each department, branch, and locality to support businesses in removing obstacles in procedures.
