Phuc Tho district completes transfer of rural power grid

At the conference, Vice Chairman of Phuc Tho District People's Committee Le Van Thu said that in previous years, the Rural Energy Project II (RE2) was implemented in a number of communes in Phuc Tho district, directly assigned to agricultural cooperatives for implementation.

Thanks to the support from the World Bank loan, many kilometers of low-voltage lines and thousands of electricity meters in the district have been renovated, upgraded and replaced; the quality of electricity in rural areas has been significantly improved, contributing to meeting the production and business needs of the people, while contributing to completing the electricity criteria in the construction of new rural areas in the communes.

However, along with the process of urbanization and rural modernization, the electricity load in localities has increased rapidly, the demand for electricity consumption is very large. The RE2 project gradually revealed its limitations, no longer suitable for the speed of local socio -economic development.

Faced with that situation, since the beginning of 2024, the leaders of Phuc Tho district have directed a field survey and collected public opinions and consensus on the policy of handing over the RE2 rural power grid (currently managed by agricultural cooperatives) to the Electricity sector for management.

Based on the policies of the central government and the city, Phuc Tho district has closely coordinated with the Electricity sector, communes and related units to implement the handover work.

After about 1 year of implementing propaganda, counting, statistics, and determining the remaining value of the rural power grid, up to this point, Hanoi Electricity Corporation has completed the capital repayment of the rural low-voltage and medium-voltage power grid project for 5 agricultural cooperatives in Phuc Tho district: Hiep Thuan, Sen Phuong, Tich Giang, Ngoc Tao, and Vong Xuyen.

The report at the conference showed that the entire rural power grid in the area had been handed over and received in accordance with the correct procedures, ensuring legality, publicity, transparency and the rights and interests of the parties involved.

After receiving the project, the Electricity sector has developed a specific plan for upgrading and renovating the power system, helping to reduce power loss, improve voltage quality, and ensure safety in use. Electricity bill collection is carried out according to the retail electricity price regulated by the State for all types of living, production, and business activities, creating fairness and transparency in the purpose of electricity use of the people...

At the conference, the People's Committee of Phuc Tho district requested Hanoi Electricity Corporation to prioritize resources to renovate, upgrade and develop the power grid in Phuc Tho district, especially in 5 communes: Sen Phuong, Tich Loc, Vong Xuyen, Hiep Thuan, Ngoc Tao; continue to pay attention to the recruitment of personnel in the Electricity sector, creating conditions to receive young personnel who meet professional requirements and are working at agricultural cooperatives that have transferred the power grid.

In addition, the Electricity sector closely follows the local master plan on infrastructure planning to have a plan to build a suitable power supply system, meeting the electricity demand with stable quality and safety for people and organizations...
