The Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club has arrived in Wuhan, China to prepare for the important match against host Wuhan Jiangda at 3 p.m. on Wednesday (May 21). Entering the semi-finals of the AFC Women's Champions League, Coach Kim Chi and her team are highly confident after a spectacular comeback in the quarter-finals against Abu Dhabi Country Club (UAE).

Due to not meeting the AFC criteria, Coach Kim Chi only holds the position of assistant coach and Coach Lu Dinh Tuan is the team leader. At the press conference before the match this afternoon (May 20), Coach Lu Dinh Tuan confidently affirmed that the team is ready: "We are very honored to be in the final round of this tournament. I took over the team after the quarter-finals. I have my own strategy, but mainly focus on improving the tactics and spirit of the whole team.

I know Wuhan is a very strong team. They have won the domestic championship many times, have many national players and quality foreign players. However, we are ready to face this challenge."

Press conference before the match between Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club and Wuhan Jiangda

After playing all four previous matches at home, this semi-final is the first time the HCMC women's club has had to play away - this makes experienced striker Huynh Nhu cautious.

"In the group stage and quarter-finals, we had home advantage, but in this final round, having to play away from home is definitely a big challenge. We understand that we will have to face thousands of Wuhan fans. The team that takes advantage of the opportunity in tomorrow's match will be the winning team" - Huynh Nhu expressed.

For the home team, coach Chang Weiwei said the team appreciates the opportunity to compete in this round and will try their best to achieve good results. Although this is their first time participating in the Asian tournament and they are under a lot of pressure, the team will turn the pressure into motivation.

Mr. Chang also expects rookie Tereza Engesha to make a difference for Wuhan Jiangda in the upcoming journey, because in the scoring list, the girl from Kenya has a great chance to touch the title of Top Scorer (currently has 5 goals).

Semi-final 2 will take place between Hyundai Steel Red Club (Korea) and Melbourne City Club (Australia) at 7:00 p.m. the same day.
