Apple's first Rapid Security Response update causes battery drain
Besides battery drain issues, iPhone owners also reported overheating issues and this has many considering ditching their iPhones.
An iPhone owner posted on Twitter and tagged Apple's official support department, saying that since the release of iOS 16.0.1 and iOS 16.4.1a, his iPhone has been experiencing overheating and battery drain issues. The owner believes that Apple should be aware of these issues, but so far, the company has made no effort to fix the problem.
The latest iOS 16.4.1a isn’t the only iOS software update that’s causing a lot of battery drain on iPhones. Tech experts say that new versions of iOS software install a lot of changes on phones, with some taking hours or even days to complete the changelog. In addition to the software changes, new versions of iOS also tend to re-adjust iPhone batteries, which can make some people think their batteries are draining faster than usual. However, if the battery drain issue persists, it’s definitely something Apple needs to address.
