BTS Jungkook sets new record, reaching 15 million followers on Spotify

Star News reported on July 11 that Jungkook's personal Spotify account surpassed 15 million followers. The male singer achieved this achievement after about 2 years and 4 months since the account was created.

Notably, the BTS member achieved this milestone in less than a year since his first official solo activity, proving his presence as a "global icon".

On the same day, the media outlet Viral Takes emphasized that Jungkook had reached 15 million followers faster than any other Asian artist on Spotify. This information made BTS fans in general and Jungkook fans in particular very proud.

That's because, despite not having any official group or solo activities recently, Jungkook has consistently maintained 23 million monthly listeners — a key indicator of an artist's current popularity, when counting each listener only once.

Previously, the male singer was the first K-pop solo artist to surpass 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He also set a record as the fastest Asian solo artist to gain more than 570,000 followers within 24 hours of creating his personal account.

Jungkook's Spotify account also broke records as the fastest K-pop artist to reach 6.4 billion cumulative streams and the first K-pop solo artist to do so.

During Spotify's year-end campaign "2023 Wrapped," the BTS vocalist recorded a total of 2.2 billion streams, the highest for a K-pop solo artist.

In addition, since his first official solo activity last July, Jungkook has reached nearly 100 million listeners in a year.

Jungkook also set four Guinness World Records: fastest K-pop solo artist to reach 1 billion streams with just 3 songs (Dreamers, Left and Right, Stay Alive), highest weekly streams by a male artist with "Seven" at 89,748,171, fastest song to reach 100 million streams on Spotify, and fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.
