Attending the conference were leaders of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, Director of the Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade ; representatives of a number of departments, branches, and units of localities; many leaders of industry associations; enterprises, and cooperatives engaged in import-export business across the country. The conference also connected online with a number of Vietnamese Trade Offices abroad.
After the merger, the Northeast region includes 5 provinces: Cao Bang, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang; is a strategic area, especially important in the economic development, security, national defense and foreign affairs of the whole country. This is also a region rich in resources, with great potential in industry, tourism, forestry and border economy; has great advantages in production, export of agricultural products and development of supporting industries. In particular, Phu Tho province has an area of over 9,300km2, a population of over 4 million people, becoming a large-scale province in the leading group of the country. The province borders 7 localities, including the capital Hanoi; has many advantages for developing trade - logistics.
The conference connecting trade between suppliers in the Northeast region with export enterprises and trade promotion organizations is an opportunity for the parties to meet, share experiences, learn about market information, introduce and promote strong products and export potential to partners; helping manufacturers connect with distribution enterprises nationwide and exporters. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for central ministries and branches to pay attention to and support Phu Tho province and the provinces in the Northeast region in connecting and bringing key products to dominate the market. This is an activity within the National Trade Promotion Project approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Department of Industry and Trade of Phu Tho province is the unit in charge of implementation in 2025.
At the conference, representatives of Vietnam Trade Offices in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and South Korea introduced the market and demand for imported products; industry associations, businesses, and cooperatives in the Northeast region also introduced products and competitive advantages, and the need to seek trade cooperation opportunities.
Attending and speaking, Vice Chairwoman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Phung Thi Kim Nga affirmed the important significance of the Conference, and emphasized: The Department of Industry and Trade of the Northeastern provinces needs to continue to promote its role as a bridge, connecting with the Department of Industry and Trade in the region, Counselors, Trade Offices of Vietnam in countries around the world, trade promotion organizations, goods importing enterprises... with enterprises, cooperatives, manufacturers, exporters in the area. Regularly innovate industrial promotion and trade promotion work; promote digital transformation, support and encourage enterprises to deploy e-commerce. Organize activities to connect trade, connect supply and demand, support market expansion for key products of the province to participate deeply and widely in domestic and foreign markets.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province requested the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade to grasp information on price situation, market characteristics, thereby introducing and disseminating to domestic production enterprises; at the same time, continue to innovate, guide localities to effectively implement trade promotion activities, actively support enterprises, production and business establishments to expand markets, introduce Vietnamese products to the world.
