Connecting OCOP product trading

(QNO) – On the morning of April 26, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province organized a conference to connect trade between OCOP product suppliers and export enterprises in Da Nang City, an activity within the event "Displaying and introducing OCOP products, Quang Nam - Da Nang agricultural products in 2025".

As of April 2025, the entire Quang Nam province has developed 493 OCOP products (including 58 4-star products, 433 3-star products and 2 5-star products), mainly belonging to product groups such as food (358 products), beverages (40 products), medicinal herbs, pharmaceutical products (29 products), handicrafts (63 products), services, community tourism , eco-tourism and tourist attractions (3 products).

OCOP products are increasingly improved in quality, diversified in types, designs, and packaging, and trusted by consumers. Many products have beautiful designs, good quality, and are produced in accordance with state regulations, thereby not only helping to effectively consume locally but also attracting the attention of consumers nationwide.

Some Quang Nam OCOP products have been widely distributed to supermarket chains and clean food stores, helping to increase the output value of the products. In particular, through the strong implementation of the OCOP program, the typical products of each locality have gradually affirmed their brands, become known to many people, and are aimed at export.

In addition, trade promotion and trade connection activities are also carried out regularly and continuously by relevant agencies and units, contributing to creating conditions for entities to have the opportunity to display and promote OCOP products at many events inside and outside the province, including abroad.

According to the leader of the Department of Rural Development of Quang Nam province (Department of Agriculture and Environment), in some localities, trade promotion activities are still fragmented and lack uniformity. The market access capacity of the subjects is still limited. A system of promotion and trade promotion that is connected and specialized in OCOP products has not been formed. It has not become a positive support solution, creating motivation for the subjects to participate in the program.

OCOP centers and points of sale are still weak in capacity and operational efficiency. Therefore, supporting entities in trade promotion, especially paying attention to building a number of regional OCOP centers and upgrading OCOP points of sale is very important.

Particularly for OCOP entities, it is necessary to continue to improve and upgrade products after being recognized; develop production after receiving state support; increase the application of information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion activities; link with people and businesses... for sustainable and effective production.

At the conference, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between OCOP entities and enterprises with enterprises distributing and consuming OCOP products.

Previously, on the evening of April 25, at the Lien Chieu District Administrative Center Park, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang City coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Nam Province to organize the opening ceremony of the event "Displaying and introducing OCOP products, Quang Nam - Da Nang agricultural products in 2025", attracting nearly 200 OCOP products in many fields such as agricultural products, food, cosmetics, beverages, herbs, handicrafts, traditional craft village products... of the two localities participating.

The program aims to create opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, craft villages, and production and business establishments that are OCOP entities of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city to promote their products to consumers, connect with trade... to promote sustainable consumption of local products. At the same time, it helps raise awareness and consumer confidence in the quality and brand of Vietnamese products... The event will last until April 27, 2025.
