With such a dominant quantity in the total cultivated area of over 1,800 hectares, it shows that since the beginning of the season, Tuy Phong has not been in a situation of water shortage for production, because more than 10 million m3 of water from Phan Dung Lake in the highlands of Phan Dung Commune has been transferred, helping Long Song Lake to undertake a dual task. That is to provide irrigation for Tuy Tinh area with an area of 1,233 hectares (rice 840 hectares, color 76 hectares, perennial crops 317 hectares) and provide domestic water in the dry months of 2025 for Tuy Phong district. Currently, Phan Dung Lake has 2.94 million m3/12.441 million m3 of useful water left, showing that last year, the lake's water storage met the requirements.

According to the leader of Tuy Phong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited, Phan Dung Lake has been put into operation for 12 years and every year, the lake has stored enough water to reach its design capacity, despite the years when Tuy Phong plain suffered severe drought. The reason is that during the rainy season, the Ta Hoang stream in Lam Dong abundantly flows into the lake. Thanks to that, the lake is effective in ensuring irrigation water for 140 hectares and domestic water for Phan Dung commune. The remaining water is transferred annually to Long Song Lake to contribute to agricultural production and domestic water supply for the entire district.

Phan Dung Lake was built and put into operation in 2013. This is considered a link in the irrigation network system of Binh Thuan in general and Tuy Phong district in particular. Although not as large as Long Song Lake, Phan Dung Lake is the savior, the support for the plain area in Tuy Phong to stabilize production. In fact, before Phan Dung Lake, there were five Da Bac Lakes and Long Song Lakes, all of which had dry bottoms, because they inherently did not store enough water with the low rainfall and could not withstand the highest evaporation rate of the place with the harshest climate in the country. Meanwhile, the place where Phan Dung Lake was built was affected by the humid weather of the plateau, so water storage was favorable. Therefore, comparing Phan Dung Lake to a water storage kept in the precious highlands of Tuy Phong is not an exaggeration. That is the result of knowing how to exploit and take advantage of the differences of nature, to do irrigation, creating opportunities for stabilizing production in areas with limited water.

Now, when the backpacking tourism booms through the Ta Nang route to Tuy Phong beach, according to the locals, the area at the foot of Phan Dung lake is where tourist groups stop to rest. At the same time, they also enjoy the space and cool water after a long journey of discovering their own potential. Restaurants have also appeared near the lake with local specialties, to help tourists replenish their energy to start their journey towards the sea. That is also the way of the canal that transfers water from Phan Dung lake to the plain...
