At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tan informed about the socio -economic situation of the province and discussed some contents related to the activities of Phan Thiet Diocese since the beginning of the year. The Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions said: Since the beginning of 2025, the Provincial People's Committee has led and directed departments, branches and localities to pay attention to and review records, and advise on timely resolving the legitimate needs of the Phan Thiet Diocese Bishop's Office and affiliated religious organizations according to the provisions of law. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document directing departments, branches and localities to support and create conditions for the Phan Thiet Diocese Bishop's Office to organize Easter in 2025; the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has developed documents guiding administrative procedures on resolving religious needs, land, construction, etc. to send to religious organizations, including the Phan Thiet Diocese Bishop's Office.
The Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions affirmed that in recent times, Phan Thiet Diocese has made many positive and useful contributions to the locality in various fields. In the first 5 months of 2025, Phan Thiet Diocese has successfully implemented a number of activities such as supporting the construction of 7 charity houses for the poor, distributing 640 gifts to the poor with a total value of 314 million VND; supporting 13 wheelchairs for the disabled (1,600,000 VND/1), supporting 100 eye surgeries for the poor with a total cost of 500 million VND. In addition, it has also accompanied ethnic minority farmers in agricultural development... The Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions acknowledged and commended the contributions of the Phan Thiet Diocese along with dignitaries and parishioners in the province in recent times.
During the meeting, the representative of the Phan Thiet Diocese Bishop's Office mentioned a number of recommendations related to religious activities, the establishment of affiliated religious organizations and land issues. At the same time, he expressed his hope that the province would continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Phan Thiet Diocese to develop and contribute to the local socio-economic development.
At the meeting, based on the recommendations of Phan Thiet Diocese, leaders of departments, branches and localities of the province directly answered and informed representatives of the Bishop's Office.
Concluding the meeting, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Minh Tan said: In the coming time, the province will continue to direct departments, branches and localities in the province to create favorable conditions for the Bishop's Palace and affiliated religious establishments to operate and practice religion in accordance with the provisions of law and regulations of the Church; promptly resolve the legitimate needs of the Bishop's Palace and religious establishments in accordance with the provisions of law, in accordance with the actual situation in the locality.
