Connecting lake space in the city

Tuy Hoa City is striving to achieve the goal of forming a 100-hectare central park in the heart of the city, by connecting the existing park chain and natural lakes. That is the park chain of Ho Son Regulating Lake - Thanh Thieu Nien Park - Van Kiep Park... connected to the inter-lake system including Sen Lake - Hoa Son Lake - Van Kiep Lake. From here, it both creates a highlight for the street space and actively supports the development process to adapt to climate change.

This strip of green parks and water surfaces is connected by routes such as Road 14, Tran Phu Street, Nguyen Huu Tho Street... According to Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, in 2020, the province began building Route 14 connecting Nguyen Tat Thanh Street with Le Duan Street. This route is expected to be completed this year. The planning of Tran Phu Street in the North along both sides of Bau Ha Canal and Nguyen Huu Tho Street in the North associated with Phuoc Hau - Lien Tri residential area was also approved by the City People's Committee in 2021. In order to build and develop Tuy Hoa City in the direction of green and sustainable growth in the spirit of the resolution of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Tuy Hoa City People's Committee coordinated with the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and the consulting unit, Huni Architectes Vietnam Co., Ltd. to study and adjust the planning of the above two routes, until September 27, 2024, which was agreed by the Provincial People's Committee in Notice 260/TB-UBND.

According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh, Vice Chairman of Tuy Hoa City People's Committee, the planning adjustment aims to complete the city's infrastructure system, expand urban space, and support the development of green tourism. The city will gradually expand natural spaces, including not only green parks but also water storage and flood drainage spaces, thereby ensuring the roadmap to increase the area of green trees and water surfaces according to the general planning of the city and surrounding areas until 2040.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khoa Khang, Head of the City's Urban Management Department, Ho Son Lake is an artificial lake located in Ho Son Park, attached to Ho Son Residential Area, existing on many major roads of Tuy Hoa City including Tran Phu, Hung Vuong, Dien Bien Phu. Started in 2019, this is a project to prevent flooding, regulate floods, and respond to climate change. Designed in a modern architectural style, in harmony with nature and cultural significance, the lake becomes a beautiful space, a new experience point attracting people and tourists.

If the roads connecting the parks form a chain of green spaces, the lake system in the city is connected by canals and flows to the East Sea. Naturally, rivers and lakes are increasingly valued as an indispensable part of the urban space, helping to soothe the noise and bustle of the city.
