In the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop, the District Agricultural Service Center coordinated with ThaiBinh Seed Company Limited - Central Highlands to deploy a demonstration model of producing high-quality rice variety TBR97 on an area of ​​0.5 hectares at Mr. Nguyen Van Anh's household (Chinh Hoa hamlet, Ia Mlah commune).

After more than 3 months of implementation, the TBR97 rice variety has shown to be quite suitable for local weather and soil conditions. The TBR97 rice variety has a high germination rate, is resistant to adverse weather conditions, is strong, and has good lodging resistance. Thanks to the application of the ICM process and integrated pest management in the field, pests and diseases in the rice field have been minimized, and the amount of pesticides and fertilizers has been reduced.

Despite unfavorable winter-spring weather conditions, the model rice area is still estimated to yield 8 tons/ha. With the current fresh rice price of 6,200 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, households earn a profit of 22.6 million VND/ha.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and shared experiences in implementing the model and expressed their hope that the model would continue to be replicated in the next crop to improve productivity and increase income for rice growers.
