Mr. Le Phuoc Loi - Vice Chairman of Binh Thuy District People's Committee, said: Binh Thuy Communal House (Long Tuyen Ancient Temple) is not only a unique architectural work of art of Vietnamese people in the river region, but also a cultural and spiritual symbol closely associated with the life of the local community for nearly two centuries.
Ky Yen Thuong Dien Festival at Binh Thuy Communal House is a unique cultural and spiritual event.
The communal house was built in 1844, conferred the title of Bon Canh Thanh Hoang in 1852 under the reign of King Tu Duc and was ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic in 1989.
Through time and many historical events, Binh Thuy Communal House is still preserved, restored and embellished by the government and people as a precious heritage.
Every year, in addition to regular worship ceremonies, two major festivals - Ky Yen Thuong Dien and Ky Yen Ha Dien, are held on a large scale to commemorate the merits of our ancestors and national heroes and to pray for national peace and prosperity, bountiful harvests, and a prosperous life.
Local leaders aim to turn Ky Yen Festival into a typical cultural and religious tourism product.
Mr. Le Phuoc Loi said: “Towards the goal of turning Ky Yen Festival into a typical cultural and religious tourism product, Binh Thuy district will continue to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City to promote, invest in infrastructure, and improve the quality of organization so that the festival becomes a highlight to attract tourists, contributing to the sustainable development of the local economy and culture”.

Representatives of Can Tho City Post Office and Can Tho City Stamp Association presented the stamp set of Binh Thuy Communal House to the representative of the management board of Binh Thuy Communal House.
On the occasion of this year's festival, the Can Tho City Post Office and Stamp Association officially launched the postage stamp set "Binh Thuy Communal House (Can Tho)", issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology, to contribute to spreading the image of the unique cultural heritage of Can Tho land and people to the public nationwide.
