With the mission of connecting information, identifying martyrs' graves so that they can work with their families to bring the remains of martyrs from the battlefields to their hometown martyrs' cemeteries, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has actively propagated the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on the regime and policies for those with meritorious services, as well as to help a large number of cadres and people better understand the Association's principles and purposes. The Association has classified the information and transferred it to the state management agency to inform the martyrs' families. The list of martyrs has been announced to 2,545 families, of which 456 martyrs have their graves recognized by their families. The Association has helped martyrs' relatives collect 67 biological samples to identify their identities using the scientific method of DNA testing. So far, there have been results for 8 cases, exactly 2 cases. In recent years, the Association has organized nearly 20 trips for nearly 600 martyrs' relatives to offer incense at martyrs' cemeteries across the country. In particular, in 2024 and 2025, the Association organized 2 delegations of martyrs' relatives to offer incense in the Eastern and Southwestern provinces. Through the incense offering trips, working with the provincial authorities and cemetery management boards, martyrs' relatives have found 67 graves of their relatives. In addition, the Association has collected nearly 21,000 pieces of information about martyrs and connected to find more than 500 martyrs' graves; coordinated with localities to bring 227 martyrs to rest in their hometown cemeteries. Not only connecting information and supporting martyrs' families in the province, the Provincial Association for Supporting Martyrs' Families also provides advice, supports searching and requests for sponsored vehicles to pick up martyrs' remains for families in other provinces. From 2023 to now, dozens of families in the provinces: Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Hai Phong city, Hanoi city, through the Association's connection, have searched for and brought martyrs' remains back to their localities for burial.
Ms. Vu Thi Lieu, Thai Thuy commune shared: For many years, our family has been deeply saddened by not being able to find the grave of her brother, martyr Vu Ngoc Son. Thanks to the connection and help of the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, I had the opportunity to go to the South with the Association's staff as well as many other martyrs' relatives to offer incense and search for the graves of martyrs. Luckily, I found my brother resting at Long Khanh Martyrs' Cemetery ( Dong Nai ). As for Ms. Hoang Thi Lieu, Bac Thai Ninh commune, she knew that her father died in the battle at Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh) in 1968, but for more than 50 years now she has not known where her father is resting. She and her family have always been deeply saddened by not being able to bring her father's remains back to their homeland. Through the connection of the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, Ms. Lieu was able to identify her father as martyr Hoang Van Kieu, who is resting at Duong Minh Chau Martyrs' Cemetery (Tay Ninh). Mrs. Lieu was very emotional and choked up. Although her father was no longer with her, she and her family were very proud to have had a heroic father who sacrificed to protect the Fatherland.
Not only has the provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs done a good job of searching for and connecting information about martyrs, it has also organized many practical activities, spreading the spirit of gratitude such as mobilizing socialization to build new houses, repair houses and give savings books to relatives of martyrs. It has donated bicycles, books, learning equipment and clothes to children of martyrs studying at educational institutions in the province and other provinces with an amount of hundreds of millions of VND. In addition, the association mobilizes members to join hands to support people affected by natural disasters, floods...
The Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has truly been a trusted address, an extension of the local Party Committee and government, as well as the expectation of families of martyrs, comrades and friends of martyrs in the cause of honoring and expressing gratitude to heroic martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
