On the morning of September 2, at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi solemnly held a military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, starting at 6:30 and ending at 10:00.

It is expected that after passing through the stage at Ba Dinh Square, the parade groups will split into 7 directions, passing through the central streets of Hanoi.

This special moment causes the demand for accommodation at hotels located along the parade route such as the area around Ba Dinh Square, Trang Tien Street, Trang Thi Street, Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Cat Linh Street, Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, Kim Ma Street, Giang Vo Street, Lieu Giai Street, Van Cao Street, Le Duan Street... to skyrocket.

Especially rooms with balconies or windows overlooking the parade area have been booked many months in advance.

Located on Kim Ma Street, one of the routes where you can observe the performances of the blocks on the occasion of September 2, the 5-star Daewoo Hotel quickly filled all 411 rooms from August 29 to September 2.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Ngoc, hotel representative said that since the end of July, the number of guests asking and booking rooms has increased dramatically. During the holidays, the hotel still keeps the same price, from 3 million VND/night for 2 people.

According to the representative, if the room occupancy rate on September 2 was around 60% in the same period in 2024, this year it was up to 100%. The hotel's room fund ran out earlier than expected thanks to the advantage that most rooms have a view of the parade street.

Similarly, the Pullman Hanoi Hotel located on Cat Linh Street is also considered a convenient location for visitors to watch the A80 event, currently reaching 100% occupancy from the night of August 30 to the night of September 2. Room rates range from VND2.8 million to VND3.2 million per night.

According to a quick survey by Dan Tri reporters, the current room rates during this time are from 3 million VND/night. Hotels in the 3 to 4 star segment in the central area are all reported to be fully booked. Some homestays and budget hotels in more remote areas still have rooms, but the prices have also increased by 20% compared to the same period last year or other holidays.

Surveying hotels in the 5-star segment and above such as JW Marriott, Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, on some online booking platforms, the Presidential suite (price from 50 million VND) is also reported to be fully booked.

Around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter, some hotels have a normal price of about 700,000 VND/night, now increased to 1.5 million VND. 4-star hotels in the area quoted a price of nearly 3 million VND/night on the evening of September 1.

Representatives of some hotels located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter confirmed that room rates have increased by about 30% to 50%. However, at present, there are no more rooms for sale.

"The price range from 2.9 million VND to 4 million VND/room/night is the segment that customers book the most. Most customers only book one night to conveniently follow the event. We currently have no rooms available on August 30 and 31. The number of rooms on September 1 is also almost exhausted," said a representative of a hotel located on Bat Su Street in Cua Dong Ward.

Planning to go to Hanoi to watch the grand ceremony but not booking a room early, Ms. Minh Hanh's family (30 years old, Hung Yen ) planned to rent a hotel in the suburbs, then move to the parade area.

"Before that, I had looked for rooms with balconies to observe from above but they were all full. Then, I switched to another plan, booking a hotel room on Ring Road 1 for about 2 million VND/night on August 31. With this plan, we can still join in the atmosphere of the holiday that only happens once every 80 years," Ms. Hanh shared.

According to data from online hotel booking platform Agoda, during the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, Hanoi is currently leading the travel trend with the number of booking searches increasing more than 44 times compared to the same period in 2024.

Data search results on the Booking booking platform also show similar figures. Currently, Hanoi has risen to the top position in the Top destinations most searched by domestic tourists in recent times.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 is an important milestone, expected to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to the capital with the number of visitors increasing by 40%-50% compared to the same period last year.

Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, Ms. Dang Huong Giang, said that the capital's tourism industry has prepared tourism products very early, upgraded service quality, and accommodation facilities ready to serve tourists. On this occasion, Hanoi Department of Tourism will introduce 80 attractive tourism products to meet the needs of experiencing, visiting and enjoying the festival atmosphere in Hanoi.
