On November 2, at Ana Mandara Resort, Da Lat City ( Lam Dong ), the opening ceremony of the course "Incubator for Young Korean - ASEAN Filmmakers" (FLY 2023) took place with the participation of 22 young filmmakers, including 2 young filmmakers from Korea and ASEAN countries, all of whom have members participating in the course.

The course is sponsored by the Korea-ASEAN Cooperation Fund, hosted by Busan City (Korea) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and co-organized by the Busan Film Commission, the Vietnam Cinema Department, Autumn Meeting and the Asian Film Commission Network (AFCNet), and Pho Ben Doi Creative Studio.
Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Vietnam Cinema Department; Mr. Lee Janggeun, Head of ASEAN-Korea Representative Office... According to the organizers, the purpose of the course is to create opportunities for young filmmakers from Korea and ASEAN to learn and develop skills; promote the development of Korean-ASEAN cinema through cooperation and exchange; increase understanding and cooperation between Korea and ASEAN.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Choi Phil, Head of the International Cooperation and External Relations Department of the Busan Film Commission said: "This will be a good opportunity for students to understand international film production cooperation through the guidance of excellent lecturers and cooperation with teammates. We hope that organizing FLY2023 in Vietnam is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Korea, especially Busan City, and Vietnam, as well as the Busan Film Commission and the Vietnam Cinema Department".
According to the organizers, after the admission ceremony, the students will be divided into two groups to make two short films in Vietnam. The program will last from now until November 14, 2023. Accordingly, the students will have in-depth lessons on directing, filming, music , editing, production and other diverse activities such as screenings and talks with the works of the directing and filming instructors.

It is known that since 2012, the Busan Film Commission has organized the "Korea - ASEAN Young Filmmaker Incubation" project every year, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the program has been suspended for the past 3 years.
