Opening of the 1st Congress of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee

On the morning of September 23, at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Cultural Center, the 1st Congress of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030 officially opened.

Attending the Congress were former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; Politburo member, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang. Also attending the Congress were Party Central Committee member Nguyen Thi Hai, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the National Assembly Delegation Affairs Committee; Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, Minister of Home Affairs; Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Construction; Do Tien Sy, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam ; Hoang Duy Trinh, member of the XV National Assembly Standing Committee.

Also attending the Congress were representatives of ministries, branches, central agencies and Military Region 1; representatives of some neighboring and twin provinces and cities; former provincial leaders of different periods, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor...

The theme of the Congress is “Strengthening the building of a clean, strong, and comprehensive Party and political system; ensuring national defense and security; promoting the tradition of solidarity, breakthroughs in rapid, unique, and sustainable development; comprehensively improving people's lives, building Thai Nguyen province into a modern industrial center with high average income before 2030”.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, is a particularly important political event, a "turning point", a milestone on the development path of Thai Nguyen province, opening up an "era of rising up to develop richly and prosperously" with the whole country, which is of great interest, expectation and hope to all the people of all ethnic groups in the province.

“The Congress takes place at a time when the country is undergoing epochal changes; opportunities, advantages and challenges are intertwined. With the position and strength accumulated after 40 years of renovation, with the consensus of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army under the wise leadership of the Party; with a new scale, new stature, new spirit, new aspirations, the Congress will decide on major, important policies that provide overall and comprehensive orientation for the development of Thai Nguyen province in the coming term and vision for the following years.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition, the spirit of solidarity and unity, the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in the province are determined to build Thai Nguyen to become increasingly prosperous and strong, the people's lives to become increasingly happy and prosperous, striving to turn Thai Nguyen into a large and modern economic and industrial center not only of the Northern midland and mountainous region but also of the Hanoi capital region by 2030, together with the country entering a new era, the era of national growth", affirmed Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung.

According to Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung, the 1st Provincial Party Congress has important tasks: Summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and reviewing the leadership of the Provincial Party Executive Committee in implementing the Resolution of the Congress, thereby drawing lessons, determining goals, tasks, and solutions for the next 5 years as well as vision for the following years; in particular, the Congress discussed and contributed to the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Creativity - Development", the Congress demonstrates the spirit of innovative thinking, decisive action, steadfast goals, flexible adaptation, innovation, and the aspiration for rapid and sustainable development.

The political report presented at the congress showed that in the 2020-2025 term, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Executive Committee of the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan and the Party Committee of Thai Nguyen province (after the merger) have always been united, made great efforts, strictly adhered to the principle of democratic centralism, focused on leadership, and comprehensively directed the work of Party building, political system building, and socio-economic development, achieving positive results.

The province has resolutely implemented the streamlining of the organizational apparatus and the arrangement of administrative units to ensure seriousness and efficiency, with many contents exceeding the schedule. The two-level local government apparatus operates synchronously, smoothly, and stably.

Average economic growth reaches 7.3%/year; economic structure shifts in a positive direction; economic scale and production capacity are expanded; by 2025, the total product (GRDP) in the province will reach about 202,925 billion VND, 1.6 times higher than in 2020; GRDP per capita in 2025 will reach 119 million VND/person, 1.5 times higher than in 2020...

The infrastructure system has received investment attention, especially transport infrastructure with the implementation of many large projects, linking and connecting regions. Digital transformation, development and application of science and technology have been promoted and achieved positive results, associated with the socio-economic development goals of the province.

Attention is paid to the fields of culture, education and health, and social security is guaranteed. The poverty reduction rate exceeds the set plan, with the average number of poor households decreasing by 1.41% per year.

During the 2020-2025 term, the province has focused on drastic direction and implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties. National defense and security are ensured; building and consolidating the people's hearts and minds, the national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture, ready to deal with any situation that may arise...

In the 2025-2030 term, Thai Nguyen sets out 7 key tasks and 3 development breakthroughs focusing on the following areas: Developing synchronous and modern infrastructure; Developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and improving the quality of human resources; Developing the private economy to become the most important driving force of the economy and developing a green economy and a circular economy.

The province strives to achieve a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) at current prices of over VND361 trillion by 2030. The average economic growth rate (GRDP) at comparable prices is from 10.5%/year or higher.

By 2030, the average GRDP per capita will reach 220 million VND. By 2030, the Human Development Index (HDI) will reach 0.79 or higher; the number of employed workers in the economy will reach 826 thousand people or higher; there will be 19 doctors and 50 hospital beds per 10,000 people or higher...

Speaking at the congress, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense acknowledged, highly appreciated, commended and congratulated the results that the Provincial Party Committee has achieved in the 2020-2025 term.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the results achieved after 40 years of renovation and during the past term have greatly changed the appearance of the province, bringing the province many new resources, creating favorable premises for Thai Nguyen to develop more strongly and comprehensively in the following years.
