Currently, the unit is urgently working to repair a landslide section in Xuan Lanh commune, Dak Lak province, over 90 meters long, caused by Typhoon No. 13 on the evening of November 6th.

Hundreds of workers are working in three shifts, four teams, remaining at the site and working continuously 24/7. Undeterred by the treacherous terrain, the construction teams are working day and night with the highest determination to reopen the railway line as soon as possible, ensuring the restoration of traffic and the transportation of goods and passengers through the area.

The railway industry has mobilized hundreds of workers to repair the damage caused by a landslide on the railway line in Dak Lak province.

To address the landslide, the contractor promptly opened a service road connecting National Highway 19C to the landslide area, facilitating the transportation of materials by trucks. Simultaneously, trains carrying stone and technical supplies were arranged to run to both ends of the landslide, shortening delivery times and accelerating construction progress. Surveying and topographic measurements continued in parallel to adjust solutions accordingly, ensuring both technical soundness and the safety of the construction workforce under complex geological conditions.

According to the Vietnam Railways Corporation, the construction plan is divided into two phases. Currently, the construction unit has completed phase 1 of traffic management with solutions such as: building a temporary bridge with two abutments, two piers, and three steel girder spans, ensuring that trains can pass through the landslide area at a limited speed of approximately 5 km/h. After the line is reopened, phase 2 will be implemented with the construction of permanent structures and reinforcement of the roadbed to ensure long-term safety.

While awaiting repairs, the railway sector also organized transportation to transfer passengers between affected stations. As of November 9th, more than 3,500 passengers from 21 affected passenger trains had been transferred due to Typhoon No. 13.

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 13, which caused landslides on the railway tracks from Km 1136+800 to Km 1136+925 in the Van Canh – Phuoc Lanh section of the North-South railway line through Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces, as of the morning of November 9th, the railway sector has suspended 45 passenger trains on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City routes. The railway sector has also reduced the frequency of passenger trains running through the area under repair in the Van Canh - Phuoc Lanh section.

Traffic flow adjustments on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway.

From today until November 20th, the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway section from La Son to Hoa Lien will only allow one lane of traffic at three landslide-prone points, between 5 AM and 5 PM. Authorities will be on duty 24/7 to respond promptly to any incidents.

The La Son - Tuy Loan expressway, 77.5 km long, connects Hue City and Da Nang City. Due to scattered rain causing waterlogged embankments, the risk of landslides is high, and the road remains dangerous at night due to fog. Passenger buses and trucks with more than 6 axles are prohibited from traveling during this time. Additional signs and directions will be added at interchanges.

Since the end of October, heavy rains have caused serious landslides in many areas, with soil and rocks spilling onto the road surface, causing severe traffic congestion on this route.
