Assessing the situation and building digital flood maps to serve disaster prevention work

HNN.VN - Implementing the direction of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City, on November 10, the Hue City Civil Defense Command issued an Official Dispatch requesting the People's Committees of communes and wards in the area to conduct surveys to mark the highest flood marks during the flood from October 25 to November 3 in the premises of agencies, schools, low-lying roads, public works, flood warning towers within the local area (marked with red paint).

Accordingly, localities need to identify flooded locations, report data in communes and wards according to the form sent to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the city (through the Department of Irrigation and Climate Change) before November 30 to synthesize and send to the Department of Science and Technology to update the digital flood map to serve the city's disaster prevention work.

This is a necessary and urgent move to serve the investigation and assessment of flood status and the construction of digital flood maps; support localities in developing disaster response plans and promptly advise the City People's Committee in directing and operating flood response in the coming time.
