Opening of the 2025 An Duong District Traditional Men's Football Tournament

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of May 10, at the District Stadium, the People's Committee of An Duong District held the opening ceremony of the 2025 Traditional Men's Football Tournament. This is one of the practical activities of the district towards celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Hai Phong - Heroic City and responding to the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong in 2025.

The An Duong District Men's Football Tournament is a traditional sports event, held annually in May, attracting the participation and interest of a large number of athletes, fans and local people. This year, the tournament brings together 10 teams with 270 players from 10 wards and communes in the district. The teams compete in a round-robin format, selecting the 4 best teams to enter the semi-finals and finals. The Organizing Committee will award first, second, third prizes and the Cup to the winning team; at the same time, award individual titles including: Top scorer, Best goalkeeper and Referee team that completed the task excellently.

The opening match between Le Thien ward and Hong Phong ward took place right after the ceremony.

The organization of the tournament aims to continue promoting the movement of physical training and sports among the people, improving physical and spiritual life, and at the same time creating a healthy and useful playground for officials, civil servants, public employees, youth, students in the district. This is also an opportunity to evaluate the quality of the grassroots sports movement, discover and nurture talented athletes to compete in city-level tournaments.
