Opening of the 10th Petroleum Industry Safety and Health Competition in 2024
Attending the opening ceremony of the Contest, on behalf of the leaders of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ), there was Mr. Le Xuan Huyen, Deputy General Director of the Group, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest; and representatives of relevant departments of the Group.

On the side of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union (VGTU), there were Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan, President of the VGTU; Mr. Nguyen Manh Kha - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , Vice President of the VGTU; Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Vice President of the VGTU; and leaders of the Trade Unions of affiliated establishments.

The 10th Petroleum Industry Safety and Health Competition in 2024 is an activity organized to raise awareness in safety work, limit and minimize risks in the oil and gas industry, thereby ensuring continuous, stable and safe production and business activities throughout Petrovietnam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Mr. Le Xuan Huyen, Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, emphasized that with the nature of operating in a field with many hidden risks and high risks of safety and explosion, safety work is always put first by Petrovietnam. In particular, propaganda work on occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) is always promoted and regularly implemented in many forms.
The Good Safety and Health Contest is one of the important activities to continuously promote propaganda work, raise awareness, methods and skills in the operation of the safety and health network, to meet the increasing requirements in fire and explosion prevention and labor protection; to propagate laws, policies and regulations of the State on labor protection, obligations and rights of employees and employers in ensuring labor safety...
Mr. Le Xuan Huyen, Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest: propaganda work on occupational safety and hygiene is always promoted and regularly deployed by the Group through many forms.
The contest attracted the participation of a large number of staff working in occupational safety and health and the occupational safety and health team at the units, thereby discovering, fostering, praising and rewarding good occupational safety and health workers and excellent collectives; continuing to promote the Green - Clean - Beautiful movement, ensuring occupational safety and health at agencies and units. The contest also aims to create a widespread mass movement with widespread influence and has become a great cultural festival of occupational safety and health workers and workers in the entire Oil and Gas industry, contributing significantly to preserving, building and developing a culture of safety and quality in the system of Oil and Gas cultural values.
Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, presented flowers to the Contest's Jury.
The organizers presented souvenir flags to the participating teams.
At the contest, teams will compete in 3 main contents: Unit introduction; Theory and Practice (baseline fire prevention and fighting or specialized fire prevention and fighting, first aid for victims).
Opening performance of the contest
The contest attracted more than 500 fans from units in the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
The content of the exam revolves around understanding of the Labor Protection regime, policies and laws; knowledge of occupational safety and health, fire prevention and fighting; skills to handle actual incidents at the facility; activities of the safety and hygiene network and methods of first aid and on-site fire fighting.
The competition's award structure includes: 1 Special Prize; 2 First Prizes for the whole group; 3 Second Prizes for the whole group; 4 Third Prizes for the whole group and 1 Encouragement Prize.
In each competition, the Organizing Committee will also award First, Second, and Third prizes for skits; fire prevention and fighting practice for basic and specialized competitions; and first aid practice.

During the competition, fans can also participate in exciting games and quizzes and receive interesting gifts from the Organizing Committee; along with a Collective Prize for fans of the units who cheered most enthusiastically and throughout the competition.
In addition, the Vietnam DK Trade Union will have the following thematic awards: Short story introducing creative and artistic units; Outstanding performance by male/female actors; Short story directed, staged and participated in by union leaders; Impressive costumes/environmental protection.
The 10th Petroleum Industry Safety and Health Competition 2024 opened on October 25 and will hold its closing ceremony and award ceremony on the afternoon of October 26, 2024 in Vung Tau City.
