Opening of the festival 'Vietnam's Heart - 50 years of beating together' in Osaka, Japan

Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha delivered the opening speech at the festival 'Vietnamese Hearts - 50 years of beating together'.

This event is organized by the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Promotion Organization (VJCP) in collaboration with Vietnamese associations and communities in the Kansai region to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The event is sponsored by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka and the Higashi Osaka City Government.

Attending the festival were Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha; Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Tran Nhat Hoang; Chairman of VJCP Do Hai Khoi; on the Japanese side were Member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese National Assembly Ryohei Iwatani, Mayor of Higashi Osaka City Yoshikazu Noda; and many members of the Osaka City and Prefecture Council.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha emphasized the sacred significance of April 30 - a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese people, marking the end of 30 years of steadfast fighting, opening an era of independence, unity and development of the country.

Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha affirmed that the April 30 Victory was the crystallization of patriotism, the desire for peace, and great national unity under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, thereby affirming the immutable truth: "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one".

The Consul General emphasized that this is an opportunity for the community to review the heroic history, remember and pay deep gratitude to the great sacrifices of previous generations, heroic martyrs, revolutionary soldiers, compatriots and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, those who made history with their own blood and courage.

He also highly appreciated the role of the overseas Vietnamese community in the struggle and national construction, especially the role of a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

The Consul General called on the Vietnamese community in Japan to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity and friendship; spreading Vietnamese culture, language and national identity; promoting Vietnamese intelligence and bravery in international integration; and strengthening connections with the homeland through investment,education , technology transfer and innovation activities.

Speaking at the event, Head of the Organizing Committee Do Hai Khoi said the Festival was held on April 30 because this is a sacred moment for Vietnamese people in Japan to look back on the great sacrifices of their ancestors for the independence and unification of the country.

“The festival ‘Vietnam Heart – 50 years of beating together’ is a tribute to the past, a symphony of love for the homeland, and an opportunity for those living far away to live in a spirit of solidarity and pride in the heart of Japan,” Mr. Do Hai Khoi emphasized.

Through the Festival, the Organizing Committee wishes to convey the message: no matter where they are, Vietnamese hearts always turn to their roots. The red flag with yellow star flying in the heart of Japan is not only a sacred symbol of national pride, but also a reminder of the responsibility to preserve, promote and spread the noble values that our ancestors have left behind.

Congressman Ryohei Iwatani also expressed his appreciation for the sentiments and positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Japan, and highly appreciated the significance of the Festival in promoting cultural exchange and enhancing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

The festival opened with a special art program with heroic songs such as The Country is Full of Joy , Like Having Uncle Ho on the Great Victory Day and Continuing the Story of Peace , performed by singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh. The performance of the song of Solidarity concluded the opening program, strongly spreading the message of solidarity, love and national pride.

The festival "Vietnam's Heart - 50 years of beating together" will take place until May 4 with traditional and contemporary music performances with the participation of many famous singers such as Tung Duong, Isaac, Duyen Quynh..., art exhibitions, culinary introductions, community activities such as the Global Cultural Carnival, the campaign " Thousands of National Flags Flying" , competitions, game shows...
