
The opening ceremony of the 2023 National Swimming Coach Practical Training Course took place at the Da Nang National Sports Training Center.
The World Aquatics Federation (formerly known as FINA) has sent senior swimming coach James Gibson (British nationality) to Vietnam to teach directly. He is one of the few famous and most experienced swimming coaches in the World Swimming movement, and is also a special advisor to the World Aquatics Federation.
More than 70 Vietnamese coaches attended the training course
Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Aquatics Association, Head of the Organizing Committee Dinh Viet Hung informed: In a recent meeting, the World Aquatics Federation agreed to help Vietnam improve the qualifications of Swimming Coaches according to the 2028 Olympic cycle. In addition, the World Aquatics Federation also committed to helping Vietnam establish a National Swimming Training Center, this is a very encouraging sign.

Participating in the training course, more than 70 Vietnamese coaches will learn and practice advanced training methods for high-performance athletes. Coach James Gibson emphasized that he will share his own experience in training to help Vietnamese coaches improve their skills. Mr. James Gibson affirmed: "During my days in Da Nang, I observed the Vietnamese national team athletes and realized that Vietnam is at a promising starting point to win an Olympic medal at the world level."
