This is an activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung - Director of the National Library of Vietnam emphasized that the August Revolution in 1945 was the pinnacle of a resilient struggle, where the strength of solidarity, intelligence and mettle of the nation created a great turning point.
On September 2 at Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh, on behalf of the Vietnamese people, declared to the world the birth of an independent nation, opening a new era - the era of freedom, happiness and the journey to socialism.
The documentary exhibition Independence Autumn and Desire for Prosperity is a space where the past and present meet, so that the story of history continues to inspire the future.
With nearly 1,000 rare documents and images, selected from the rich archives of the National Library of Vietnam, the exhibition content is arranged like a journey, taking viewers back in time, from the historic autumn days to today's brilliant achievements.
According to the director of the National Library of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Dung, each artifact in the exhibition is a piece of history; each image is a slice of national memory; each page of documents is a living witness of the times.
The 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) is not only an opportunity for us to review the past, but also to gain strength, build confidence and nurture the desire to rise up. As the contemporary song echoes: "Continue writing the story of peace , for a brighter tomorrow", today we continue that journey with knowledge, creativity, innovation and integration - so that Vietnam can rise up strongly, making worthy contributions to the peace and development of humanity.

The documentary exhibition Independence Autumn and Desire for Prosperity introduces to the public 800 documents and 80 photos, selected from the rich archives of the National Library of Vietnam and a number of rare collections, displayed according to 4 main themes.
Specifically, the topic "August Revolution 1945 - The first great victory of the Vietnamese people in the 20th century", introduces written documents about the historical context, developments, and causes of success of the August Revolution 1945 - The great turning point opening the era of independence and freedom for the nation...
The theme “National Day September 2, 1945 - A heroic milestone of the Vietnamese people in the Ho Chi Minh era” displays documents depicting the heroic atmosphere at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam…
The theme “Historical value and contemporary significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2” introduces documents summarizing and evaluating the historical value and contemporary significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; affirming the great role of the August Revolution and National Day in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and the path of national development.
The theme “Vietnam - 80 years of steady progress” displays written documents about the country's outstanding achievements in the fields of politics, economics, culture, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs over the past 8 decades, affirming Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.

According to the organizers, through the displayed documents, the exhibition aims to affirm the great significance and important role of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 in the historical process of the nation.
Propagating and educating the tradition of patriotism, self-reliance, self-improvement, and the desire for peace; promoting the spirit of great solidarity in preserving and promoting revolutionary achievements; joining hands and unanimity to build, protect and develop the country.
The exhibition is also an opportunity to express deep gratitude to generations of Vietnamese people who have heroically fought for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people; to encourage the entire Party, people and army to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of Delegates, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party;
At the same time, introduce to the people of the whole country and international friends the achievements of the country's construction, protection and development over the past 80 years and the aspiration for prosperity under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh...
The exhibition Independence Autumn and Desire for Prosperity lasts until September 15.
