This morning, June 17, at Quang Nam Museum (Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province), the exhibition space "Cham Culture of Ninh Thuan - Quang Nam" and "Quang Nam National Treasures" was officially opened.
Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh - Director of the Management Board of Quang Nam Monuments and Museums said that the thematic exhibition "Cham Culture Ninh Thuan - Quang Nam" was jointly organized by the Center for Ethnic Culture Research and the Ninh Thuan Provincial Museum and the Management Board.
This is also one of the highlight events of "Quang Nam Culture - Sports - Tourism Days 2025", taking place throughout June 2025.
The exhibition aims to contribute to introducing to the public the unique cultural values of the Cham community, especially the Cham culture of Ninh Thuan and Quang Nam; serving the work of education and research, tourism development, aiming to propagate and educate the young generation to be aware of preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Cham people in contemporary life.
At the same time, it strengthens community solidarity, regional cultural exchange and creates opportunities for people and tourists to better understand the richness and diversity of Vietnamese culture.
The exhibition layout is divided into two main areas: The left area is the space to display Cham Ninh Thuan cultural heritage with about 130 artifacts and 70 images; the right area is the space to display Cham Quang Nam cultural heritage with about 50 images and 40 artifacts.
The exhibition introduces images and artifacts showing cultural characteristics in the life of the Cham people living in Ninh Thuan province, including residential forms, traditional costumes, jewelry, customs, production tools, typical musical instruments, religious beliefs and annual festivals.
Images of archaeological excavation activities at Cham relics, temple and tower architecture... especially artifacts including statues, decorative reliefs, materials (tiles, bricks...), and household utensils excavated from Cham relics in Quang Nam and Ninh Thuan provinces.
Tourists and locals can visit and experience the exhibition space at Quang Nam Museum, and interact with artisans from Ninh Thuan performing the art of Bau Truc pottery and traditional Cham brocade weaving.
In parallel with the exhibition "Cham Culture of Ninh Thuan - Quang Nam", the Management Board of Monuments and Museum of Quang Nam organized an exhibition of Quang Nam national treasures with the theme "National treasures - Quintessence of Quang heritage".
Accordingly, there will be 4 versions of national treasures from the previous version of Quang Nam Museum: Bodhisattva Tara statue, Ekamukhalinga, Champa Monk Phu Hung statue, Goddess Devi statue along with images related to national treasures originating from Quang Nam.
Especially for the first time, 3 precious original collections and artifacts currently kept at Quang Nam Museum will be introduced to the public including: Gold statue head of god Sihva; Lai Nghi gold jewelry collection; Lai Nghi animal-shaped agate artifacts.
In addition, the exhibition also introduces images, drawings, and stamps of two bronze artifacts and a Dong Son bronze jar dating from the 3rd-1st century BC owned by private collector Luong Hoang Long (Hoi An City, Quang Nam) that have just been recognized as national treasures.
After the official exhibition, from June 21 to July 30, the Management Board of Quang Nam Monuments and Museums continues to welcome visitors to visit, research and study.
