The beautiful and mysterious seaweed forest of the ancient wall under the sea in Nhon Hai, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province has become a tourist attraction to this fishing village.
Nhon Hai fishing village is about 15 km from Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh province). Nhon Hai is one of the coastal villages that still retains many pristine features, including rocky cliffs, beaches, coral reefs and seaweed forests under the sea.
From April to August every year is the time when Nhon Hai fishing village enters the most beautiful tourist season of the year. The clear blue sea, flat sand and beautiful seaweed forests attract tourists to relax here. At low tide, a mysterious ancient citadel appears...
"Dreamy seaweed forest" under Nhon Hai sea is breathtakingly beautiful.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, Vice Chairman of Nhon Hai Commune People's Committee, since April, Nhon Hai sea has attracted a large number of tourists to come and see seaweed.
Thanks to the commune's good implementation of the coastal aquatic resources co-management model, the Hon Kho area (Nhon Hai sea) has well protected coral reefs and seaweed.
Members of the coastal aquatic resources protection community group in Nhon Hai set up markers and demarcated the protected sea area around Hon Kho island, Nhon Hai commune.
From April onwards, seaweed in Nhon Hai beach develops into a forest, attracting a large number of tourists.
Mr. Nguyen Ton Xuan Sang, Director of Nhon Hai Tourism and Aquatic Services Cooperative, said that the seaweed forest is a gift from the sea for the local people. During the seaweed harvest season, people flock to the sea, a beautiful image that attracts tourists from near and far to Nhon Hai to join in the life of the fishing village. Seaweed and seaweed from the sea become delicious gifts for tourists. Therefore, in recent times, the Cooperative, together with the authorities of Nhon Hai communes and the people of the coastal areas, have joined hands to protect this natural resource.
Coming to Nhon Hai beach on sunny summer days, visitors can not only see the seaweed, moss, and coral forests, but also experience exploring the mysterious ancient citadel walls revealed when the tide recedes.
According to the people of Nhon Hai, there are about four days a month when the water recedes (the beginning of the month, the full moon day) when the wall is revealed under the sea. Until now, they have not been able to explain the origin of this wall. However, the mystery and the traces related to the Champa dynasty with this wall are attracting more and more people to Nhon Hai to see the wall under the sea.
