On behalf of the Party and State leaders and with personal feelings, General Secretary To Lam cordially sends to all leaders, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the inspection sector through the periods, as well as distinguished delegates and guests his warm regards and best wishes.

The General Secretary emphasized: After 80 years of construction, development and growth, the Vietnamese inspection sector has been in harmony with the glorious historical journeys of the country. During the resistance wars against France and the US, despite the harsh war conditions, inspection organizations still operated, contributing to maintaining discipline and order, ensuring that all resistance and national construction policies were implemented fairly and strictly. In the period of innovation and integration, inspection officers continue to be an important force in protecting the integrity of the state apparatus, preventing, detecting and handling violations, especially corruption, waste and negativity.

It can be said that wherever there is inspection work, discipline is established, trust is strengthened, and the law is respected. That is the pride of 80 years of history - 80 years of affirming the mettle, intelligence, loyalty, and devotion of the inspection staff to the Party, the State, and the people.

Comrade Doan Hong Phong said: The 5th Central Conference of the 11th term in May 2012 decided to establish a Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption under the Politburo, with the General Secretary as its Head. This is an important turning point, of decisive significance in the fight against corruption.

Under the close direction of the Central Steering Committee, the inspection sector conducted inspections, discovered many violations, recommended handling of many corruption cases, and transferred them to the investigation agency for handling according to their authority, including very serious and especially serious cases that were breakthroughs in the fight against corruption; and received special attention and high appreciation from public opinion.

According to the Government Inspector General, in the 2020-2025 period, continuing to build and develop the foundations established many years ago, the inspection sector has overcome all difficulties and challenges, made continuous efforts and achieved important results.

Notably, there has been a strong innovation in thinking, leadership methods, and organization in inspection activities, especially in strengthening discipline, order, and controlling power, preventing corruption and negativity within inspection agencies. Inspections have been focused on key areas at risk of corruption, waste, and negativity, and are of public concern.

Through inspection activities, we not only detect and recommend strict handling of violations, but also aim to strengthen prevention and detect loopholes and inadequacies of the law to recommend competent authorities to improve the legal system.

As a result of inspection work over the past 5 years, the inspection sector has discovered economic violations of more than 703 trillion VND (an increase of 62.3%) on more than 19 thousand hectares of land; proposed to review and handle the responsibilities of more than 16 thousand collectives and more than 34 thousand individuals; transferred 1,762 cases (an increase of 258.8%) and 1,266 subjects (an increase of 80.6%) to the investigation agency compared to the previous term.

In particular, when the Central Steering Committee directed that anti-corruption and anti-negativity must be linked with anti-waste and determined that anti-waste has an equivalent position to anti-corruption and anti-negativity; the inspection sector was assigned to inspect many large-scale topics nationwide and has carried out many complex inspections in a short period of time but achieved high results.

Typically, in 2025, the Government Inspectorate, implementing the direction of the General Secretary and the Prime Minister, completed the inspection of two projects, Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital, Facility 2 in Ha Nam, in just 36 days; discovered many violations and waste of more than 1,200 billion VND...

The inspection sector has also made many innovations in the work of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations, especially focusing on resolving outstanding, complicated, long-standing complaints and denunciations that have been brought to the Central level, contributing to stabilizing political security and socio-economic development of the country.

In 2025, implementing the direction of the General Secretary and the Prime Minister, the Government Inspectorate, together with central and local ministries, branches and sectors, focused on leading and directing a 90-day and night campaign to handle and resolve 226 complicated, prolonged, and over-level complaints and denunciations to the Central Government in Hanoi.

In recognition of the achievements of the inspection sector in the cause of national construction and development, the inspection sector has been awarded the Gold Star Order, Ho Chi Minh Order, and First Class Independence Order by the Party and State.
