Affirming the role and position of trade unions in the new era.

Today (December 16th), the first Provincial Trade Union Congress, for the 2025-2030 term, officially opened. The Congress will approve the report summarizing the provincial trade union's activities from 2023-2025 and the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 term; approve the resolution for the new term; announce the decisions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Inspection Committee of the Provincial Confederation of Labor for the 2025-2030 term, as well as key leadership positions; and announce the decision appointing delegates to the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, for the 2026-2031 term.

The Congress will approve the report summarizing the provincial trade union's activities from 2023-2025 and the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 term; approve the resolution for the new term; announce the decisions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Inspection Committee of the Provincial Confederation of Labor for the 2025-2030 term, as well as key leadership positions; and announce the decision appointing delegates to the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, for the 2026-2031 term.

During the period 2023-2025, along with the development of the country and the province, and the implementation of organizational restructuring and the operation of the two-tiered local government, the provincial trade union's activities have achieved many important results, contributing to consolidating confidence and strongly inspiring the aspiration to build a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland, confidently stepping into a new era.

The task of building strong trade union organizations is a priority for all levels of trade unions.

Many outstanding results

According to the Provincial Labor Union, the provincial trade union's activities achieved many important results during the 2023-2025 period. In particular, it successfully fulfilled its role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, achieving many outstanding results. This helped strengthen the trust of union members and workers in the trade union organization, and, together with all levels, sectors, businesses, and society, improved the lives and employment of union members and workers, building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises.

Specifically, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions guided the Executive Committees of grassroots trade unions to participate in and coordinate the organization of conferences for officials, civil servants, employees, and workers, as well as workplace dialogues; to develop, negotiate, and sign collective labor agreements, with 460 agreements containing many provisions more beneficial to workers; and to actively participate in providing feedback on amending and supplementing policies and laws directly related to the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

Activities aimed at improving the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers, as well as social activities organized by trade unions at all levels, are implemented through many practical models.

Through these programs, over 200,000 union members and workers received support totaling nearly 123 billion VND. In particular, the "Union Shelter," "Shelter of Love," "Shelter of Compassion," and "Support for Workers' Families" programs provided funding for the construction of 773 houses for union members and workers facing housing difficulties, with a total amount exceeding 36 billion VND.

The "Employee Welfare" program has been expanded, with agreements signed with 35 partners and over 200,000 employees and workers benefiting from preferential products and services, with a total value exceeding 10 billion VND...

Besides providing regular welfare benefits for union members and employees, with a total budget of over 1 billion VND/year; awarding scholarships and giving Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to union members' children worth over 3 billion VND/year, the Trade Union of Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. also coordinates with the company's Board of Directors to implement activities to care for 100% of union members and employees during Tet and Workers' Month, with approximately 12 billion VND/year...

Mr. Le Vinh Tien, Chairman of the Trade Union of Ty Xuan Co., Ltd., said: "The Trade Union always cooperates with the company to effectively implement policies for employees regarding wages, bonuses, social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, labor contracts, collective labor agreements in accordance with the law, and many other clauses that are more beneficial to employees."

At the same time, we must pay attention to and care for improving the quality of life and motivating employees to stay committed to the company.”

The patriotic emulation movement was also widely implemented, focusing on the movements "Studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh ," "Excellent and creative labor," "New Dong Khoi," and "Good at national affairs - Good at household affairs"...

For example, the Trade Union of Furukawa Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. in Vinh Long, Vietnam, in 2025, through the emulation movement for technical innovation and improvement, had 125 initiatives applied in practice, bringing good results and saving the enterprise over 10.7 billion VND in costs.

Meanwhile, at Bac Tea Joint Stock Company (Long Duc ward), the emulation movement for excellent and creative labor has awakened the spirit of creative work among union members and employees.

According to the Chairman of the Trade Union of Bac Tea Joint Stock Company, Dinh Van Hieu, the company has successfully implemented many technical improvement initiatives in the past period, including 213 initiatives recognized at the company level and 133 initiatives recognized at the provincial level, contributing to the completion of the company's production and business plan.

Building a strong trade union organization.

The work of building trade union organizations and improving the quality of their activities has been focused on by trade unions at all levels in the province, with a focus on placing workers at the center of their operations. During the 2023-2025 period, 44,280 new members were recruited; and 250 grassroots trade unions and professional unions were established.

At Cuu Long Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, the work of developing union membership and improving the quality of union activities is increasingly becoming more in-depth and in line with the actual situation of the unit.

As a result, 112 new members were admitted, bringing the total to 743. According to Nguyen Van Hoang, Chairman of the Trade Union of Cuu Long Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, this work is truly necessary because it is the foundation for a strong trade union organization, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation.

In accordance with the Party's policy on organizational restructuring, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions has dissolved the higher-level trade unions directly above the grassroots level. To date, there are 169,462 union members out of 182,850 workers, with 615 grassroots trade unions and professional associations.

In addition, attention should be paid to building a team of trade union officials with professional qualifications, capabilities, and dedication, thereby promoting and improving the quality of activities and ensuring they are increasingly relevant to reality.

At the same time, the Trade Union focused on disseminating information and educating union members and workers to raise their awareness. Through this, it nurtured exemplary and advanced individuals, and introduced 7,425 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, training, and admission.

The trade union does a good job of taking care of its members and workers.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Chairman of the Provincial Labor Union, stated: In the new term, with new momentum and new confidence in victory, the First Provincial Labor Union Congress, term 2025-2030, sets the following overall goal:

Building a strong and comprehensive provincial trade union organization; focusing on representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; developing long-term welfare programs; promoting a pioneering role, innovation, and creativity; arousing patriotism and aspirations for national development; serving as a reliable support for workers and a solid political and social foundation for the Party and State; contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the province.

One of the key, groundbreaking solutions of the new term of the Trade Union is: "Coordinating the planning, development, and implementation of long-term, comprehensive welfare programs, creating sustainable bonds between union members, trade union organizations, and businesses."

In addition to regular welfare activities, the next term will place special emphasis on developing long-term, comprehensive welfare programs.

“Identifying key objectives and breakthroughs in building and implementing comprehensive, long-term welfare programs is a highlight in the effort to improve the quality and effectiveness of the provincial trade union's activities in the next term. This will create a sustainable bond between union members, workers, the trade union organization, and businesses,” emphasized Nguyen Phuc Linh, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor.

Accordingly, using funds from the trade union and social contributions, the trade union participates in building trade union facilities combined with worker housing, nurseries, and kindergartens; effectively promoting the "Trade Union Shelter" Program and the "Workers' Support Program" to support and create sustainable livelihoods for union members and workers, especially vulnerable groups, the informal sector, and ethnic minorities.

The Provincial Federation of Labor Unions focuses on finding potential partners to develop, sign, and implement cooperation agreements that become benefits and advantages for union members and workers.
