Specifically, at noon today, Ngoan Muc Pass experienced 4 new landslides. A lot of soil and rocks from the mountain fell down, crushing trees and then onto the road, very dangerous.
According to Mr. Dinh Van Tri, Chairman of Lam Son Commune People's Committee, the locality is currently experiencing very heavy and prolonged rain. Due to the long-term rain, the soil and rocks are no longer cohesive, so the risk of landslides may continue to occur. Currently, the functional units have arranged forces to be on duty, not allowing people and vehicles to pass through to ensure safety and avoid traffic jams. The Commune People's Committee also informed and advised people not to move through the Ngoan Muc Pass area.
Since the floods began on November 16-17, there have been 6 landslides at Ngoan Muc Pass. Authorities had to temporarily close the road to fix the problem. Now, 4 new landslides have occurred, posing a very high risk of insecurity.
