Khanh Hoa: Medical equipment business dialogue conference 2025

On August 15, in Nha Trang, the Ministry of Health held a dialogue conference with manufacturing and trading enterprises in the field of medical equipment to receive opinions, answer questions, discuss and find solutions to remove difficulties in medical equipment business activities.

Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Permanent Deputy Minister of Health answered questions from businesses at the conference.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Ministry of Health; the Department of Internal Political Security, Ministry of Public Security ; leaders of the Department of Health of the provinces: Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Can Tho, and representatives of domestic and foreign medical equipment businesses. Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Permanent Deputy Minister of Health chaired the conference.

At the conference, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said that over the past 10 years, along with deep international integration, Vietnam's medical equipment sector has developed strongly, applying many advanced technologies such as robotic surgery, contributing to improving treatment efficiency. Management work is harmonized with the ASEAN Agreement on Medical Devices (AMDD), helping to improve people's health indicators and life expectancy.

“Health is the most valuable asset of each person and of the whole society. Doctors, medicines, and medical equipment are the three decisive factors, in which medical equipment plays an important role in the effectiveness and quality of care, protection, and improvement of people's health," Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen emphasized.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health , Departments of Health and enterprises presented many in-depth reports and discussions on difficulties and problems in bidding, manufacturing and importing medical equipment.

In particular, Khanh Hoa Department of Health proposed to build a database of medical equipment, classification and post-inspection for shared use among localities on the provincial public administrative service information portal. The Ministry of Health highly appreciated the participation and active contribution of enterprises in consulting, giving comments and feedback, contributing to the improvement of institutions and policies on medical equipment.

To operate effectively, medical equipment suppliers need to proactively carry out professional work, improve the quality of medical equipment products for the market at reasonable costs; improve corporate governance capacity, apply modern science and technology, digital technology and artificial intelligence, to improve the safety quality of medical equipment.

At the same time, expand international cooperation, develop domestic medical equipment production, gradually integrate and participate in the global medical equipment supply chain; participate in contributing ideas and criticism to perfect the institutions and policies on medical equipment of State management agencies, first of all, contribute ideas to build the draft Law on Medical Equipment.
