Khanh Hoa: Expectations for a booming summer tourist season

In the first 4 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa tourism continued to flourish. According to a report by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province welcomed about 3.6 million overnight visitors, an increase of 22.7% over the same period in 2024, reaching 30.5% of the annual plan. The tourism industry is making efforts to accelerate to soon complete the goal of welcoming 11.8 million visitors this year, especially during the peak summer season.

To achieve that goal, the province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have developed a plan to organize many large-scale activities and events. In particular, the 2025 Sea Culture - Tourism Festival with nearly 40 cultural, artistic, sports, culinary events... taking place throughout June promises to bring visitors exciting and joyful summer days.

The highlight of the 2025 Sea Culture - Tourism Festival is the "Nha Trang say Hi" music festival held on the evening of June 7, with the participation of famous singers from the program "Anh trai say Hi", combined with a high-altitude fireworks display on the sea. Next is the international cultural exchange program (June 8), street carnival parade (June 9), along with a series of attractive events such as: Agarwood festival, bird's nest festival, international culinary festival, Louisiane draft beer festival... In addition, there are also sports activities such as: International beach volleyball tournament, Sea Star Nha Trang Bay swimming tournament, national beach soccer tournament, sports - terrain racing, Unique Nha Trang H-marathon race. Within the framework of the program, there will also be two beauty contests: Miss Sea Island Vietnam 2025 and Miss Universe Vietnam 2025.

In addition to the province's program, many tourism businesses also introduce attractive programs and products for the summer. Notably, VinWonders Nha Trang will combine Tata Show with fireworks displays every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Activities will also take place here such as: International Children's Day - Welcome to a vibrant summer (June 1), Cosplay festival (from June 1 to July 31), kite flying festival - flying colors (every Wednesday and Saturday, from June 1 to July 31), Aquafest festival (from June 9 to August 9) with games such as overcoming obstacles on the sea, shooting water guns... In particular, the lantern festival (Wonder Lantern) will light up Vinpearl Harbor with hundreds of colorful lanterns, creating a magical and splendid atmosphere. Along with the sparkling lights are folk melodies from three regions combined with vibrant dances, creating an artistic performance that is both lyrical and modern.

During the summer, tourist areas and spots in the coastal city of Nha Trang will organize many attractive commercial, culinary, cultural and entertainment activities. The ancient Nha Trang tourist area will launch the “Legend of Ancient Nha Trang” scene, introducing the process of construction and development of the city; at the same time, inaugurate a traditional craft village with occupations such as: hat weaving, mat weaving, incense making, garment making, pottery, lacquer painting… and organize cooking classes for visitors to explore the traditional cuisine of the land of Agarwood.

Summer travel is "hot"

Summer is always the golden season for tourism in Khanh Hoa. The success of the April 30 and May 1 holidays (welcoming more than 273,155 guests, revenue reaching nearly VND 1,378 billion, up 5.4% over the same period in 2024) shows that Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is still an attractive destination for both domestic and international visitors. Currently, many resorts and hotels with beautiful locations in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa are fully booked.

Tourists visit Ana Marina Nha Trang

Information from Cam Ranh International Airport shows that the number of passengers this summer is expected to increase sharply. Mr. Nguyen Tai Minh - Deputy Director in charge of Cam Ranh International Airport said that in the summer of 2025, the number of flights will increase by about 30% compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, international flights will increase by about 20%, with 26 airlines operating 43 routes to countries and territories (Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia and Central Asian countries), with an average frequency of 94 takeoffs and landings/day. Domestic flights will increase by 10% with 4 airlines, with an average frequency of 44 takeoffs and landings/day.

With its sea and island advantages, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa always attracts visitors from the southern provinces and the Central Highlands. In addition to visitors traveling by air, the number of visitors traveling by rail and expressway connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang is also increasing rapidly. "According to habit, Vietnamese people often organize family vacation tours in the summer. This is an opportunity for Khanh Hoa tourism to attract visitors. In addition to beach resorts, businesses can promote activities related to indigenous culture, community tourism, and green tourism," said Mr. Pham Minh Nhut - Chairman of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.
