Inauguration of the sculpture cluster "Gia Lai Land and People" at Hoi Phu stream

(GLO)- On the afternoon of August 19, at Suoi Hoi Phu urban area, Gia Lai Provincial Literature and Arts Association held the closing ceremony of the first Gia Lai Provincial Sculpture Creation Camp in 2025 and inaugurated the sculpture cluster "Gia Lai Land and People".

Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Siu Trung province; Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association Luong Xuan Doan and 14 sculptors from across the country.

In his closing speech, Meritorious Artist Dang Cong Hung, Chairman of the Gia Lai Province Literature and Arts Association, informed: At the "Gia Lai Land and People" Sculpture Creation Camp this time, from 54 artistic sketches of 34 sculptors across the country, the Arts Council selected 14 best works.

These works ensure aesthetics, demonstrate cultural symbolic value and are suitable for public spaces to be constructed and displayed at Hoi Phu stream.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que assessed: This is the first typical cultural and artistic event after the province's merger, a pioneering activity bringing art to public spaces, opening a new direction for enhancing the urban landscape and promoting the image of the province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude to the sculptors who have devoted all their passion and talent to creating works that are both aesthetically pleasing and contain the local spirit, and at the same time sincerely thanked the businesses and sponsors who have joined hands to build a more beautiful urban space, bringing art closer to the public.

"Along with respecting and preserving the works at Hoi Phu stream, we will continue to call for social resources and invite more talented artists, so that Gia Lai becomes a unique art destination in the region and the whole country.

I believe that, with the cooperation of the government, artists, businesses and people, the Sculpture Garden at Suoi Hoi Phu will become a cultural highlight of Pleiku, a stopover for tourists from all over the world and the pride of every citizen when introducing their homeland" - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que expected.
