The joy of having a new home
After 9 months of construction, the 2-storey dormitory building including 10 closed rooms, separate rooms for boys and girls and fully equipped with bathrooms and toilets, ensuring safe and comfortable living space for 209 boarding students at the school has been completed. The project not only solves the housing shortage when the school continuously welcomes 3rd grade students from remote schools, but also provides a spacious and clean living environment for the students.
Having a new dormitory also helps teachers easily manage and care for students, and at the same time helps parents feel secure in sending their children away from home. This is also the foundation for improving the quality of education , the basis for promoting equitable education for ethnic minority students in border areas.

Located in My Ly commune - a border commune with a poverty rate of over 80%, the teaching and learning of teachers and students of My Ly 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities still faces many difficulties. In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 343 students, 95% of whom are Thai, Mong, Kho Mu, Muong and Tho ethnic minorities, of which over 76% are from poor or near-poor households. Before the solid dormitory building was built, the students' living conditions were very difficult.
The toilet area is located outdoors, without adequate cover, making bathing a nightmare every winter. The dormitory is also not enough for the students living at the school, many students have to sleep crowded together because of lack of accommodation. Especially in the summer, the hot and cramped space makes the students' sleep incomplete, directly affecting their learning results and physical development.

What I like most is that my new room has a comfortable bed, is clean and has its own bathroom. In winter I don't have to take cold showers anymore.

The project started in January and was rushed to completion in September to welcome students in the new school year. Progress was accelerated but quality was still ensured, with close supervision from relevant parties so that every detail met the living and studying needs of students.
The timely completion not only helps students have a new space on the first day of school, but also creates more excitement and motivation for both teachers and students. In just 9 months, from an empty land, a spacious 2-storey dormitory has sprung up - a testament to the community's cooperation in improving learning conditions, creating a safe and comfortable environment for hundreds of students in the highlands.

Receiving this meaningful project, Mr. Nguyen The Vinh - Principal of the school was moved and said: "Over the years, we have encountered many difficulties in arranging food and accommodation for students, especially when they are young and far from their families. That is not only a great pressure for the school but also a constant worry for parents.
The birth of the closed, spacious and safe dormitory building today has solved many of those difficulties. This is not only a new home, a spiritual and physical support for students, but also an important step in the process of completing the infrastructure, towards the goal of building a national standard school in the near future.

Journey to awaken the spirit of social responsibility
Launched in November 2024, the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Fund for Vietnamese Stature, after only 2 months, 2,260 organizational and individual sponsors have supported phase 1 of the project with a total amount of more than 2.1 billion VND. This impressive number not only demonstrates the spirit of sharing and contributions from thousands of individuals and organizations across the country, but also shows the strong influence of the project initiated by the Fund for Vietnamese Stature.
Not only with this project, during 10 years of operation, millions of sponsors have chosen to accompany the Fund on the journey to awaken the spirit of social responsibility for a better future for students in mountainous areas.
We hope and believe that the closed rooms, full living space and facilities at the school will contribute to helping students have better health and a more comfortable spirit to study, nurture dreams and grow aspirations.
This is not only a change in living conditions, but also the thoughtful care that thousands of kind-hearted people across the country and the For Vietnamese Stature Fund send to the children in the remote border areas of the Fatherland.Ms. Tran Hong Diep - Director of the Fund for Vietnamese Stature
Continuing that effort, the For Vietnamese Stature Fund is raising funds for phase 2 to build a boarding kitchen for students, ensuring that they are fully cared for in terms of accommodation and daily meals. A standard kitchen not only provides delicious, nutritious meals but also plays an important role in protecting school health, creating a foundation for children's physical development.

“With new, spacious and fully equipped facilities, with the support of VTVV Fund and benefactors, teachers and students will have more motivation to overcome all difficulties, reap even greater achievements in the education career, contributing to the development of My Ly homeland. The local Party Committee and government pledge to continue to pay attention and create the best conditions for the school to effectively promote the project, contributing to improving the quality of education,” affirmed Mr. Luong Van Bay, Chairman of the People's Committee of My Ly commune, Nghe An province.
The journey of sowing those good things is still continuing with the consensus of the community, with the belief that each more spacious school, each warmer meal, is a small but sustainable step on the path of bringing knowledge and happiness to children in the border areas of the Fatherland.

The Vietnam Stature Fund (VSF) was established on December 16, 2014 under Decision No. 1288/QD-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs . It is a non-profit social fund that contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), supports the community in the field of health protection and care for people, especially prioritizing children in difficult circumstances; sponsors and builds programs to develop intelligence, talent, and education, contributing to the development of stature, physical strength, and intelligence for Vietnamese people.

As a social organization that promotes professionalism and pioneers with many creative solutions, over the years the Fund has developed rapidly and strongly, flourishing in all aspects. The development journey of the Fund has taken understanding as the origin and promoted practical changes to the lives of Vietnamese people.
This strategic vision was affirmed by Labor Hero Thai Huong, Founder of the Fund: “The important key for a social fund like the Fund for Vietnamese Stature to operate effectively must come from understanding. Understanding is the beginning of change. Understanding helps create sustainable change”.
