Since 2009, the Voluntary Blood Donation Day has become an annual event organized by Hai Phong Port.

With the message "Every drop of blood donated saves a life," the number of people registering to donate blood and the number of blood units collected have increased steadily each year, reaching 80 units in 2009 and rising to 226 units this year.

The 226 units of blood collected at the event will contribute to replenishing the city's blood reserves.
