The working group conducted a survey and assessed the current status of facilities as well as proposed investment plans to upgrade, build new ones, and develop existing educational facilities into boarding and semi-boarding schools according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training in accordance with the actual situation of the locality.
At the same time, review and guide localities on procedures for adjusting planning, especially allocating enough land to build schools, ensuring technical infrastructure according to boarding school standards; guide agencies and units to carry out procedures in investment plans; issues related to handling real estate assets when investing in the construction of boarding schools, primary and secondary schools in border communes; policies for students and teachers in border areas and other support policies...
During the survey sessions, representatives of the People's Committees of the communes: Ia Dom, Ia Nan, Ia Pnôn, Ia O, Ia Chia, Ia Mơ, and La Púch summarized the local educational situation; schools provided additional information on the characteristics of the situation related to the school's teaching work, advantages and difficulties when organizing teaching and learning according to the boarding and semi-boarding model.
According to the survey, currently, in 7 border communes of the province, there are a total of 9,419 students studying at schools, of which ethnic minorities account for 54.65%. Specifically, Ia O commune has 62 classes with 2,223 students; Ia Chia commune has 53 classes with 1,552 students; Ia Pnôn commune has 30 classes with 1,033 students; Ia Dom commune has 47 classes with 1,721 students; Ia Nan commune has 45 classes with 1,486 students; Ia Mo commune has 21 classes with 674 students; Ia Puch commune has 24 classes with 730 students.

The Department of Education and Training has proposed a plan and investment portfolio for the construction of a primary and secondary boarding school in 7 border communes. The Department has also proposed specific items of construction and school equipment that need investment to ensure teaching and learning, care and training of students.
The investment in building schools in 7 border communes of Gia Lai is a model suitable for the practical conditions of the border area, contributing to improving the quality of education and creating conditions for ethnic minority children to study in a better environment. The early completion of planning and preparation for investment in building schools in 7 border communes not only meets the urgent needs of the people but also demonstrates the determination of Gia Lai province in effectively implementing the major policies of the Party and State on developing education in disadvantaged and border areas.
