In the digital age, children have access to endless knowledge and entertainment. However, the online environment also poses numerous risks. In reality, children are facing the risk of exposure to harmful content such as violence and pornography; becoming victims of cyberbullying; or being scammed or having their personal information abused.
Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh - Vice President of Vietnam Digital Communications Association, General Director of TikTok Vietnam said, along with the development of the Internet and social networks, the time people spend on phones, computers and cyberspace is a lot. According to regulations, a working day is 8 hours, while the average time each person spends on the Internet is about 7 - 8 hours. Large platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok can reach 100 million hours of use in Vietnam every day".
Children with limited "resistance" and ability to distinguish right from wrong are easily caught up in negative trends and become victims of online dangers.
In addition, the digital content market for children in Vietnam is still fragmented, lacking quality, educationally oriented products. Creators also lack a professional environment for cooperation and support.
Faced with this urgent situation, the Digital Content Creation Network for Children (DCCC) was established with the approval of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association, aiming to create a positive, safe and humane creative ecosystem.
DCCC aims to connect businesses, organizations and individuals operating in this field, mobilizing domestic and international resources to jointly develop high-quality educational, cultural and entertainment content. Through multi-sectoral cooperation and experience sharing, the Network aims to build a safe digital space, contributing to the comprehensive development of the young generation.
Speaking at the DCCC launch ceremony, Mr. Hoang Dinh Chung - Permanent Vice President of DCCA affirmed that building a positive, safe and humane digital ecosystem for children is not only an urgent need but also a shared responsibility of the whole society. The network will be a pioneering platform, not only protecting children from harmful content but also giving them access to good and creative values.
DCCC aims to attract 100 members who are content creators within 2 years. Release more than 200 safe, educational digital content products.
The birth of DCCC is expected to create a strong push, bringing together "heartfelt and visionary" creators and responsible technology businesses, joining hands to create a safer and brighter digital future for Vietnamese children.
"This journey will not be easy. However, we believe that with our joint efforts and strong commitment, the 'Digital Content Creation Network for Children' will become a pioneering platform, not only protecting children from harmful content but also giving them access to good, creative and humane values," said Mr. Chung.
