
On the morning of June 20, the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Hai Duong province held a conference to summarize the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee; Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee attended the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang praised and highly appreciated the efforts of all levels, sectors and localities in the whole province, especially the Provincial People's Committee, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and the Department of Construction in directing, organizing and implementing the program.
The Provincial Party Secretary also expressed his deep gratitude to the noble gestures and kindness of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, people from all walks of life, businesses and philanthropists inside and outside the province who have accompanied and actively contributed to the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Hai Duong province.

In the coming time, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, Fatherland Front, and organizations in the province continue to promote propaganda and dissemination to organizations, individuals, and people of all walks of life about the content, purpose, meaning, and humanity, creating a widespread influence to mobilize all resources to join hands to continue supporting the construction of houses for families in difficult circumstances, people with revolutionary contributions, and relatives of martyrs in the province in the following years.

For households that have received support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, local authorities and committees regularly conduct propaganda to raise awareness, arouse the will to be self-reliant, escape poverty, and stabilize their lives; promptly encourage and guide households to stabilize their lives, protect and use their houses effectively and long-term.

Promoting the spirit of “all for the people”, the Provincial People’s Committee, departments and branches advise on the issuance of support policies such as specific policies to support the poor, near-poor, and newly escaped-poverty households; vocational training, job creation, policy credit loans, access to healthcare,education , etc. to help people escape poverty sustainably.
The work of supervising the construction warranty after handover and supporting people after the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses must be carried out with the highest sense of responsibility, in the most thorough and practical manner, taking people's satisfaction and stability of life as the measure of results.

At the conference, provincial leaders awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 39 groups (including 2 groups of Hai Duong Newspaper and Radio - Television Station), 50 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing, deploying and implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Hai Duong province.

Responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025", immediately after the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 102/CD-TTg dated October 6, 2024, identifying this as a key task requiring the synchronous participation of the entire political system, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee promptly established a Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, directing 100% of district and commune levels to establish a Steering Committee. The Provincial People's Committee urgently issued a specific action plan, and at the same time submitted to the Provincial People's Council to issue a Resolution to support housing costs for households with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs, poor households, and near-poor households in the province. The support level of Hai Duong province was raised higher than the national average, specifically 100 million VND/household to build a new house, 50 million VND/household to repair a house.
The total cost of implementing the program is about 327.1 billion VND, of which more than 107.1 billion VND is from the state budget, the rest is mobilized from families, clans, and other support sources. At the same time, synchronously mobilize social resources, especially the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, armed forces, residential communities, and families and clans to participate in support.
As a result, by June 15, Hai Duong province had completed the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, with a total of 1,452 houses, exceeding the province's plan and 2 months ahead of schedule compared to the Prime Minister's request.
