I will always remember the day I made the first new issue of Hai Duong newspaper.

The day I received the decision to change the Hai Duong News to the new Hai Duong newspaper, I was very happy. I secretly thought that I would try my best to contribute to renew the newspaper to match its new name.

Before that, I had been to Hanoi Moi Newspaper and Nhan Dan Newspaper to learn how to make cufflinks and mockups. I was worried: the name of the newspaper is Hai Duong Moi, so how should the cufflinks be presented to make it impressive? So I decided to draw the word "Hai Duong" boldly to make it stand out. The word "moi" worried me the most because if it was on the same line, it would affect the structure of the newspaper, and if it was placed on a new line, I was worried it wouldn't be impressive. I did it over and over again but still wasn't satisfied. Finally, I chose to put the word "moi" on the next line but it was drawn in relief on a background of 5 lines. At that time, the word "moi" was like a musical note on a musical staff, expressing the joy and happiness of a new newspaper. I didn't expect that when it was finished, it was approved immediately.

On November 14, 1961, the last Hai Duong News was published, which was also the time when the editorial staff had to rush to prepare articles for the first new Hai Duong issue.

From the newsletter, the first issue of Hai Duong New Newspaper published on December 1, 1961 was built to become a forum for the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong.

The first issue of Hai Duong Newspaper has 4 pages of 26x37cm size. The articles in the first issue of Hai Duong Newspaper are all short and do not continue on the page. Although there are only 4 small pages, right from the first issue, the newspaper has had the sections “You need to know”, “ Science and life”, “Funny pictures”, and especially the section “Readers’ voices”.

The early days of the new Hai Duong newspaper were full of difficulties, but the journalists at that time overcame everything to build a solid foundation for the newspaper to develop later.
