It is known that the location of the welcome gate was originally in Vu Thu commune (old Thai Binh province), not far from Tan De bridge.

The photo series immediately went viral because many people said it touched the emotions of many hearts.
According to research, photographer Nguyen Hong Son (28 years old, from Hung Ha, Thai Binh) was the one who directly recorded this because he wanted to preserve the memories of his hometown.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Son said he had the idea nearly a month ago, but was only able to carry it out on June 27.
From July 1, the name Thai Binh will officially stop, merge with Hung Yen province to form a new province, making way for a new stage of development.
Born in Hung Ha district, Mr. Son did not want to miss the opportunity to capture the last moment with the affectionate name - Thai Binh.
“I came to take photos at sunset, when the twilight was falling on my hometown. The images were captured very quickly, a way for me to express my feelings for the place where I was born and raised,” the photographer confided.
For Mr. Son, this gate is the place to welcome generations of locals and tourists back home as well as to see them off. Now, this place has become an unmissable check-in destination before the locality and its people are ready to turn a new page with many hopes for a new future.
The photo series also received a lot of attention. Many locals expressed their feelings about the once familiar image.

“There will be many regrets about a name that has been associated with many generations. We will all keep the name Thai Binh as the most beautiful part of our consciousness. The two beloved words Thai Binh will be the driving force for this land to develop sustainably and become more prosperous in the era of growth,” shared an account named Mai Nguyen.
Ms. Mai Huong (currently living and working in Hanoi ) said that in the past, every time she returned to her hometown and passed through the welcome gate, she only needed to see the words "Thai Binh welcomes you", and she knew she had returned home.
“I have passed by this place countless times and the welcome gate has become familiar. Soon, the journey will end to make way for a more brilliant period, but in my heart, my homeland, no matter where it is, is still a part of my flesh and blood,” the 32-year-old guest shared.

The welcome gate is considered a milestone to welcome and see off people and tourists on each departure or return trip.
According to Resolution 60 NQ TW 2025, after merging, the two localities of Thai Binh and Hung Yen will become Hung Yen province. The political and administrative center is currently located in Hung Yen province.
Thus, the province has an area of over 2,500km2. The population is over 3.5 million people with 104 wards and communes.
