After Nam Dinh Club defeated Ha Tinh 1-0 in round 26, Nguyen Xuan Son and his teammates were present in the tunnel to prepare for the V.League championship trophy lifting ceremony.
Xuan Son appeared relaxed. He even pretended to have a sore leg when he bumped into Lam Ti Phong, making his teammate wearing the number 39 jersey startled and worried.
The 2024/25 V.League season ended with the second consecutive championship for Nam Dinh Club. The team at Thien Truong Stadium showed stability in the sprint stage with a series of 7 victories to overcome strong opponents such as Hanoi Club and Hanoi Police.
Despite the absence of key striker Xuan Son, coach Vu Hong Viet’s team still showed impressive form. Since losing 0-1 to Viettel’s The Cong at home in January, Nam Dinh FC has been unbeaten in 15 consecutive matches, including 14 wins.
Even before the season ended, Nam Dinh Club showed its ambition by extending the contract with key striker Xuan Son until 2031.
Among the players whose contracts were extended, Xuan Son was "tied down" the longest, until 2031. Meanwhile, Thanh Hao, Van Dat, Hoang Anh, and Van Vi were signed to contracts until 2029. The remaining players were given contracts for 3 more years, until 2028.
