According to cybersecurity experts, VNeID is not just an application, it is the "identity key" of each citizen. VNeID screenshots often contain important personal information such as: Citizen identification number, permanent address, QR code linking data, portrait photo of the owner...
With the development of image recognition technology, criminals can use AI technology to "extract" all the information in the photo. Just one photo posted online, from which the bad guys have information to collect data, from which they can impersonate, forge documents, even take advantage to borrow money, open bank accounts, illegally appropriate property...
Experts warn that sharing images of VNeID or personal documents on social networks once again demonstrates the importance of security awareness in the digital age. Every citizen needs to be equipped with the right knowledge about protecting personal information.
