Groundbreaking Ceremony of Bai Chay Hospital Construction and Expansion Investment Project

In the atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on the morning of August 19, the Bai Chay Hospital construction and expansion project was started in Viet Hung ward, Quang Ninh province. This is one of the projects being deployed simultaneously across the country and in the province. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony was comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

The Bai Chay Hospital Construction and Expansion Investment Project has a total investment of 210 billion VND, including many items, including the construction of a new 10-storey treatment building, adding modern, synchronous technical equipment, on par with the region. After completion, the hospital will be supplemented with 100 more beds, a modern testing system, and synchronous infrastructure; thereby aiming to improve the quality of medical services, gradually implement advanced techniques, attract good doctors; meet the increasing needs of medical examination, treatment, and health care of the people.

Currently, Bai Chay Hospital is one of three hospitals ranked by the Ministry of Health as a specialized hospital in the province. The hospital has a planned capacity of 1,050 beds, receiving an average of 1,900 to 2,000 patients for examination and treatment per day. In recent times, with the attention of the province and the health sector, the hospital has mastered many advanced and complex techniques of the central and international levels. The hospital is also implementing a specialized Oncology center, responding to the treatment of cancer patients in the province as well as many other localities in the region.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Doctor CKII Le Ngoc Dung, Director of the Hospital, affirmed: The province's interest in investing in the construction and expansion of the hospital is very practical and timely, helping the hospital have the infrastructure conditions to further expand the scope of medical examination and treatment; deploy more specialized, high-tech departments, so that patients can benefit from high-quality medical services right in the locality. Thereby, contributing to saving time and costs for treatment, limiting referrals, and reducing the burden on the central level.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, emphasized: The project to build and expand Bai Chay Hospital is identified as a key medical project, of special importance to Quang Ninh province in the new development stage, better responding to social security work in the province.

During the project implementation, investors and contractors need to enhance their sense of responsibility, work seriously; focus resources to implement the project to ensure safety, quality, progress, put it into operation soon, and promote investment efficiency. State management agencies closely coordinate with investors and contractors in resolving administrative procedures, removing difficulties and obstacles (if any) during the project implementation process.

Along with the investment in facilities, he also hopes that the hospital's medical staff will continue to improve their expertise, promote medical ethics, and constantly study and master advanced techniques and professional techniques; helping patients feel secure in receiving treatment right at the provincial level, as well as contributing to taking care of the health of the people, tourists and investors coming to the province.

The Bai Chay Hospital Construction and Expansion Investment Project was approved by the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council in July 2024, with the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Region I (formerly the Management Board of Construction Investment of Civil and Industrial Works) as the investor. It is expected to be constructed within 15 months, completed and put into use in 2027.
