On November 18, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board coordinated with Deo Ca Group to organize the launching ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh Road construction investment project, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section, in An Lap commune, Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province.
The Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section is about 72.75km long, starting at Tru Van Tho commune, Bau Bang district, Binh Duong province and ending at the intersection with National Highway N2, now Ho Chi Minh road, in Duc Hoa district, Long An province. The total investment of the project is about 2,293 billion VND, using state budget capital.
Deo Ca Group is the contractor implementing Package XL1 - Construction of section Km10+000 - Km41+150 (including Phuoc Hoa Canal Bridge, Cay Truong Bridge, Ba Tu Bridge, Thi Tinh Bridge, Suoi Tre Bridge, Thanh An Bridge) under the Ho Chi Minh Road Construction Investment Project, Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section. The package has a construction value of over 681 billion VND, the contract implementation period is 730 days.
The Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section passes through the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, and Long An, which are four provinces in the Southern Key Economic Zone. This project started in 2009. However, in 2011, the project was suspended according to Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP dated February 24, 2011 of the Government and Directive No. 1792/CT-TTg dated October 15, 2011 of the Prime Minister.
Previously, the XL1 Package was selected by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board (investor) through open bidding, with an adjusted unit price contract. Deo Ca Group was the winning bidder according to Decision 3016/QD-BDHCM of the Ministry of Transport.
According to the plan, the Ho Chi Minh road section from Chon Thanh to Duc Hoa will become a 6-lane highway with a speed of 100km/h. The first phase will build a 2-lane road, and in the future it will continue to expand according to the development needs of the region.
In addition to connecting with localities, the Project has strong connections with many other important routes, such as: Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, My Phuoc - Tan Van Road, National Highway 13, Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4.
Within the scope of the Project, 14 bridges will be built, including Thanh An Bridge across the Saigon River, connecting Binh Duong and Tay Ninh. In addition, there are also overpasses and intersections between Ho Chi Minh Road and National Highway 22, which were completed many years ago, but are currently "waiting for the road" to be put into use.
The project is divided into 3 construction packages. In addition to Package XL-01 implemented by Deo Ca Group, the project also has two packages that are preparing to select contractors, including: Package XL2 - construction of section Km41+150 - Km62+454 (including Rach Suoi, Kenh Dong, Trang Bang, An Hoa bridges) worth 709.671 billion VND; Package XL3 - construction of section Km62+454 - Km82+750 (including Tay Long, Rach Nhum, Bao Trai, Hoc Thom bridges) worth 521.382 billion VND./.
