On September 9th, VSIP Group officially launched the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (VSIP Can Tho ) project in Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city. This is the 13th Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in the country and the first project in the Mekong Delta.

Attending the VSIP Can Tho project launch ceremony were the Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Vietnam, Roy Kho; the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Hieu; leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Ministry of Planning and Investment, provinces in the Mekong Delta, business associations from various countries; and representatives from domestic and foreign businesses.
The groundbreaking ceremony is a follow-up to the online groundbreaking ceremony for VSIP Can Tho, which took place in Hanoi on August 29th and was chaired by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The VSIP Can Tho Industrial Park is planned with a total area of 900 hectares, and upon completion, it is expected to create jobs for 100,000 workers and attract US$3.5 billion in investment. Phase 1 covers an area of 293.7 hectares and will initially create jobs for 20,000-30,000 workers.
The project is strategically located at the intersection of the longitudinal and transverse expressways of the Mekong Delta; bordering three provinces: Dong Thap, An Giang, and Hau Giang, easily connecting to the port system, airport, and amenities of the city center.

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, shared: "With the attention and support of the Government and central ministries and agencies, along with the determination of Can Tho City and the capacity of VSIP Company, Vinh Thanh Industrial Park - Phase 1 is the 7th industrial park established in Can Tho City."
The leaders of Can Tho City are fully confident that the project will soon become operational according to the set schedule; creating a favorable environment to serve investors in Can Tho in particular and the key economic region of the Mekong Delta in general; and making a positive contribution to the integration, comprehensive and sustainable development of Vietnam in the future. The Can Tho City government is committed to creating the best possible conditions for domestic and foreign businesses throughout the investment and business operations in the locality.
Can Tho City currently has Can Tho International Airport, a network of waterways and major ports; an urban transportation system, and expressways connecting to neighboring areas. As a centrally-governed city, Can Tho has announced the approval of its socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2030, with the vision of becoming a commercial and service center of the Mekong Delta region by 2030. Can Tho possesses all the elements to promote the development of aquaculture, agriculture, and strengthen its role as a major food processing and distribution center.
VSIP Can Tho is oriented towards being built according to the model of a smart and sustainable industrial park. VSIP Can Tho aims to become a major food processing and distribution center in the Southern region, establishing a logistics network "from the center to the port" and supporting infrastructure to best support the supply chain needs of investors. During the launch ceremony, VSIP signed memoranda of understanding with 12 investors for land lease and business cooperation.
