Warehouse fire in Tuong Mai ward controlled, no human casualties

CAND Newspaper initially reported on the fire that occurred in a warehouse area of hundreds of square meters in lane 389 Truong Dinh (Tuong Mai ward, Hanoi ).

According to information from Hanoi City Police, at 00:05 on July 19, the City Police Command Center received a fire alarm at the warehouse and workshop of Vegetable and Fruit Import-Export Joint Stock Company I, located at 389 Truong Dinh, Tuong Mai Ward, Hanoi City.

Immediately upon receiving the information, the City Police Command Information Center mobilized 60 officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police along with 8 fire trucks, 1 tanker truck and specialized vehicles to the scene to coordinate with the authorities, ward police and people to organize fire fighting.

The fire broke out and threatened to spread.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Le Cuong, Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi City Police also mobilized 2 command vehicles, 1 truck carrying vehicles and directly went to the scene to command the fire fighting and rescue work.

At the scene, the authorities determined that the fire occurred in warehouse and workshop No. 6, with a construction area of about 1,700 square meters; the fire was complicated, with many flammable materials such as wood, essential oils, raw materials, printing equipment... and generated a lot of toxic smoke and gas; the fire spread quickly, with the possibility of spreading to neighboring factories and warehouses.

The firefighting force promptly deployed combat teams, exploited the natural water source on site and the firefighting water supply system from the city's water tower to deploy firefighting and prevent the fire from spreading. Excavators were mobilized to demolish the structure, creating access for the attack teams to penetrate deep into the fire spots inside the warehouse area.

At the same time, the ward police force, the force participating in ensuring security and order at the facility, the militia and self-defense forces... also quickly organized traffic flow, ensured security and order at the scene, and provided maximum support for fire fighting.

After a period of firefighting efforts, at about 0:40, the fire was controlled and at about 1:30 the fire was basically extinguished. The Fire Police force approached inside to extinguish the embers and cool the fire area.
